Today we went to Taronga Zoo. Again we were wide awake all night and sleep in the morning, so we left about 12:30 Walked to Darling Harbour to catch the ferry :/ fortunately its not a long journey. Eventhough I don't like boats it was nice to see the city from a distance, pass under the bridge and pass the Opera House. Really enjoyed the zoo. I felt you could get nearer to the animals then you woudl here. I loved the giraffes, of course. They were veryfriendly, coming near the fence. The view was great here. As your looking at the giraffes, behind them all you can see is the harbours, and city in the distance. Today we slept in again. Today we walked the length of George Street from our hotel to Circular Quay. Had a look at the Opera House from a distance. Walked around The Rocks area of Sydney. There was a small market with a guy singing (well) on the street. Seemed a nice area to be in. We then sat in McDonalds or McCafe and had a crossaint and used their free wifi for a bit. Then we walked back down George Street looking in the shops and exploaring a bit more. We went back to the hotel and had an exciting dinner of jam sandwiches and crisps. We decided we wanted to watch the Royal Wedding btu didn't want to sit around waiting for it to start so we went for another wander. Passed through Chinatown ... read more

We met up with some people Laura met in Thailand. Went to a nice Italian by Circular Quay which was very good :) Of course I had pizza. Then we went to a pub with a rooftop garden that overlookd the Opera House, which was a lovely view :) We walked back to our hotel, which is a bit of a way, but I enjoyed the walk, the city is very pretty at night and feels completely safe as its busy.... read more

Arrived at 5:15am after a 23hour flight. Once we got to our hotel they let us check in (very)early. As soon as we got in the room we were asleep. After a couple of hours we took a wander down the street to see what was nearby. We are staying on George Street, which reminds me very much of Oxford Street. It goes the whole length of Sydney City Centre. We found a supermarket (Woolworths) and bought some chocolate, chrisp and bread for dinner :) ... read more
