May not be able to take over PotY points, we might decide to do another lap. Just played 9 holes at Nadi in Fiji, Vijay Singh was club champion in 1980, what a dump!! Cheers, John
Girvan outing (you came second) Hi John, sorry it's taken me so long to write, I've been kept busy keeping up all the paperwork you'll be doing for the club when you get back (please!!) Just back from Girvan outing (you did not win this year) and your par 3 into the floating green was just like my round at Girvan except my platform was 100yds wide and as usual I still managed to land in the water, been keeping up with all your bloggs, exhausted just thinking about all the hills you 2 have climbed (no wonder you've lost weight) looks fantastic down there ... keep safe and see you soon... Tommy C

catching up Hi liz,
As you seen the Scenery in New Zealand is amazing, we're now on the north island, travelled 2,400 Km on the south island in our campervan, a bit tiring but great fun,
Take care, Johnny xxxxxxx
catching up Hi Johnnie, just received e'mail with web address so i am able to catch up again on your travels. N.Z. looks amazing beautiful scenery and looks so clear. See what you mean with the parking a bit close for comfort, what a cheek! Hope Eileen has gotten over her cold had it myself last week so know how she feels. You are both looking great. Take it you have heard the gers are doing well, Matt and David are over the moon. David has not heard anything since applying for brigade but i suppose they would have had thousands of applications. His friend Gerard McAlpine (Big Gerrys son) started his training in Gullane 2 weeks ago but he had been waiting 2 years to get accepted. Anyways take care both of you and will be in touch again soon. Love Liz x
Hello New Zealand Hello Gordon,
Sounds like you are also having a great time on your Grand Tour by stages, Vienna or Florence next, no doubt.
Celtic tops are becoming rarer for some reason, wonder why!!!.
cheers,
John
hello ha ha, so whos this viking? the boat ride looked amazing. i bet thats the first time mums ever been able to see while swimming! i didnt realise turtles were that huge! its enormous. went to a thai resturant in glasgow the other night, the green curry was amazing. will need to take you when you get back. love you loads xxxxxxx
Ahoy there mateys And here was me thinking that I'll be sailing again myself in a couple of weeks. The sailing season starts again mid-April and I can't wait.
Unfortunately sailing on the Clyde can't quite equal the scenery that you've been experiencing. Still, you've got to make do with what you've got. Somehow or another I can't see myself snorkelling in the Kyles of Bute though.
You guys are having great fun !! Wish I was there.
Maybe when you get back John you can show me how to fit a "chuckoozy" on board. Just now I'm struggling to imagine how it could fit. The answer must be a bigger boat ??
Slainthe,
RR
what a crab !! hey you two wha are we going to do wih you!! we're so jelous with all the photos you send - it looks brill !! mind you what a laugh it would be getting me into one of those suits - or better still peeling me back out of it!!!!!! i wouldn't mind the red wine in a pouch - as long as its wet i don't care!! weather back here is nice and sunny, cold but we're used to it - missing you,
keep safe,
carol
back to basics at last this blog is so uncanny. its like watching an episode of lost. the first part was watching these city folk trying to adapt to life in the middle of nowhere(if you consider prestwick was ever somewhere that is). their hair became frazzled, their new tans covered over their fake tans with ease. Eileen even looks like Kate. If John grows hi hair a bit he could look like the standard scottish dude american tv shows throw in for a laugh. Are you with me here. Then they head off to australia and suddenly we have civilization again. Yip, current series of lost i hear you say! Then just when you think you have figured it out, they are back in the middle of nowhere with strange creatures coming out of the dark and stealing clothes and stuff. This stuff is exciting. I cant wait for the next instalment.
glad to see its taken on a more exciting twist again. Although John needs to grow a distinctive beard. It will keep it real and hell be able to scare off any guys with celtic tops. as if being a rangers fan wasnt enough to do that. Anyway great to read new blog. rich, kristian and anne-mari
Green Curry Hi Chris
I absolutely love Green Curries, if you can make them for us, Even Better!!! but you will have a lot to live up to. cos we,ve tasted the real deal in Thailand
Love Dad xxxxxx
sydney Chris,
Seen loads of surfers now and some really good ones. at Agnes Waters they have lessons for 16 Dollars, supposed to be the cheapest lessons on the East Coast. Too far into our journey to start learning cos we wouldn't have much opportunity to use it.
Love Dad xxxxxxx
Green Curry i not only love green curries its one of my speciality dishes that i cook. When iwas in Bath with the band me and the keyboard player were looking for a burger king, or hungry jack. Could not find one, so we went to a thai restuarant. ended up having a silver service candle lit dinner, just the two of us. We both never eat so quick, felt very stupid.
sydney good seeing the sydney photo's, i've got a lot of them from different angles. Lorraine worked in the victoria buildings. i was one f those surfers but surf was too strong couldn't stand up. know what you mean about getting the steps clear, could barely see them when i was taking photo's

nudists.... I stayed at the belongil beach house too....did you venture left up the beach and come across the ageing nudists?! a couple of them struck up a conversation with me as I was walking along the beach one day....very embarassing!!!!!!!
Pie and peas ~ eh ?? The thing is it might be a famous place, and it might have attracted a lot of famous people (including the "Big Yin") >> but you have to ask yourself "Would he have rated it so highly as the infamous "Killie Pie"" ??
I mean, would he ??
Emm and I will treat you to a picninc in the Botanic Gardens (the ones in Glasgow that is) complete with a Killie Pie. To be followed by a walk across the road to Oram Mhor for a REAL pint. Just think, that's bound to inspire you on the way back.
Have fun
RR
