latest blog Hey, guys!! Another great Ste Mae Uak Abbott blog!! Hilarious as ever, but the one that made me feel jealous for the first time! I know you have gathered so many ace moments and experiences on your journey but, in my view, the time spent working with the elephants must surely rank as the best!!! xx
Have the same conversation about BBQ restaurants every week! Conversation with an American teacher in Spain:
Her "Where are you from?"
Kris "The north-east of England"
Her: "I don't know where that is"
................
There's nothing to say to that, is there?
Great blog. Loving your travel stories. Keep it up!
I am with you... how does the plan stay up? I really enjoyed your blog. I loved South East Asia, the people, food; culture and weather are all amazing.
I was able to relate with your views on flying, not only with how intimidating it is - Why is it shaking like this? What is that on the wing? How well did the engineers check this plane before takeoff? This plane is too full..... Get off!!!!!!! ( I have a blog about this if your are interested) - But also with the insane weight regulations. Why can I only check 20kgs, therefore making my combined weight 88kg.... but Mr and Mrs Triple chin can also check 20kg??? It really does not seem that fair... not to mention when you have to sit next to someone whose ass oozes onto half of your seat. Grief.
Be Careful What You Wish For Well at least it was only a manic driver, vomiting passengers and a likely dilapidated bus, it didn't appeared that you were skinned alive and buggered at a toilet stop. I'm thinking of visiting Laos, where did you stay in Luang Prabang and what area is the classier part of town?
Thanks for reading and commenting. The classier end of town is the end furthest away from the night market towards the tip of the peninsular (it'll make sense on a map). The night market is nice though but thats where the backpacker accommodation is where alot of the muppets go. The best quality and value restaurant we found was on the river front called Rosalla Fusion opposite quite a popular (and over priced in my opinion) restaurant called Tamarind. We loved it in LP and I'm sure you will too.
A highly entertaining read So much so, that I even read it twice - who could possibly resist references to Raiden, and be educated on the transport BS Factor and the powers of Photoshop. As for the chocolate and egg combination, it reminds me of a former work colleague in Australia who always enjoyed jam (strawberry if I remember rightly) with her fried eggs.
Good lord, hours later and I'm still LOL where should I start, incest boner, judas, that fantastic full feature cinematic masterpiece.
and p.s. I think Dennys has a nutella and egg sandwich on their breakfast menu in the US of A...
Doing as the Nams do British cousin’s delivery of British humour induces good belly laugh and potential incest boner. I’m afraid to read this again as I may develop full-blown priapism.
Thanks very much. I've just googled 'priapism'. If anyone else is a complete tard like me and doesn't know what it is, its a boner illness. Hopefully you'll read next months blog which will probably be 3000 words about lady boys
Brilliant! I'm still laughing. “The bus journey was on time, comfortable and absolutely nothing out of the ordinary happened. No one was sick on me, there was no livestock on board and the driver was sober and stayed awake the entire trip. After watching an original non pirated copy of a film in English that didn’t star Vin Diesel, we stopped at a service station where we were able to visit a toilet that didn’t have faeces on the walls and not once did I think I was going to be skinned alive and buggered.”
Cambodian music videos and karaoke We remember those well and remember being on a bus with the same song on a never ending loop...it did our heads in especially as we had our ipod nicked and we couldn't use it to drown out the wailing coming from the speakers! Enjoy Vietnam.
Cheers thanks. We cannot escape the Karaoke. We're in Can Tho at the moment awaiting our bus to HCMC and there's karaoke going on next door. If you can't beat em join em! Suspicious Minds here i come.
LOL!! Hi, Ste and Judith!! Thoroughly enjoyed reading your blog!! You guys seem to be experiencing life to the max! Returning to good old Blighty is going to be very strange! Wonder where you'll be when you celebrate your birthday next week? Love (or LOL as your's truly has been using it!! Not the other version!! But then I've always been a bit of a slow numpty!!) xxxxx
Brilliant... Just brilliant! Your blog made me laugh.... Even though I'm a poncy southerner, so speak nothing like how you write, your writing style actually makes me miss the UK... Hope your guts stop playing up soon! :)

Yorkshire Tea! We have been back from our RTW trip in rainy shitty leeds for 6 months now and your blog left me laughing, feeling jealous and feeling glad the hostel when your in a couple madness is over!! Good blog and happy travels.. Mary and fellow travel blogger (no-filth-please).
Oh no not shitty Leeds!! I'm from even shittier Bradford so this in effect makes us mortal enemies. Saying that my wife's from Leeds and we get on pretty well so well in fact we got married. I've just had a cup of Tetleys (no Yorkshire Tea sadly) in our hotel room in Kampot, Cambodia using our travel kettle - how classy. Thanks for the comment. New blog coming shortly.
Love your blog! Gday from an Aussie ;) you were flying in on friday the 13th as we were flying out. Honeymoon in Medan LOL! Great blog gave me a great laugh thanks happy travels.
G'day mate! Thanks for the comment. Yes Medan hmmmmm. Maybe we could go back for our Silver wedding anniversary. Or maybe we should go to Italy or something sensible!
Me and the wife have gone travelling for a year. We're from Yorkshire, England. It’s our mission to travel the world to see if there is anywhere that does better chips and gravy than our local chippy. First stop Argentina, last stop Bangkok and a whole lot of gubbins in between.... full info
