Hello All! Its spring time here in Grenoble, and the days are getting nice and hot already! Since last I wrote in my blog, I’ve been enjoying life here in Grenoble, going to classes and hanging with friends. I got my marks back from first semester and I have passed all my classes, which I am very happy about. I am still waiting on one more result from my economics class (it takes ages to get your marks here) but I think that there’s nothing to worry about and I passed that one too. Lyon A couple of weekends ago, I went on a day trip to Lyon with some of my friends. Lyon is one of the oldest cities in France, going back from the time of the Roman occupation. It is now ... read more

Hello All! I hope that these cold months are all treating you well. Here in Grenoble we are experiencing one of the coldest temperatures on record for February and all of us here are sick of it! Even for a Canadian like myself I am finding the cold disagreeable. But like any good Canadian I look to the slopes to have fun during the long cold winter months! Last week I got the chance to go to a ski resort with some of my old Belgium friends to have a little fun after the exams that I passed at the end of January. We stayed at a station called St.Francois Longchamp which is about three hours away from Grenoble in the heart of the French Alps. The station was huge! It had around 20 chair lifts, ... read more

I have been very busy, but one of my many New Year’s resolutions is to write on my blog more so I promise more blogs will be coming to you all soon! So as the title of this blog suggests, I whole semester has passed during my stay in Grenoble. It is incredible how time flyes! It seems like just yesterday that I was preparing to leave for France and stressed out about what awaited me. Now that I have spent a whole 4 months in Grenoble, I feel that it is my home because I have a whole new life there. This semester I made tons of friends, had many new experiences and even.. dare I say it? Have a new French ... read more

November 6th 2011

Hello everyone! Here is Grenoble it has been rainy for the past couple days, which is a first because usually it is nice and sunny! This weekend has been pretty quiet for me, I went out with some friends on Friday night and on Saturday I went skating with some other exchange people which was fun. Courses are going well; I have a midterm in my economics class in a couple of weeks so I will have to work hard for that. I also have a couple of presentations due this month, so you see November is going to be a busy month! I will now fill you in on what has been going on the last half of October. I told you that I was going on a weekend trip in the mountains with a ... read more

Hello Everyone! I am more than a month into my experience in France right now and I can truly say that I am loving my new life. School is going pretty well, I can understand the teachers and am arriving at taking notes at the same time as listening which is very difficult for a non French student to accomplish! I am starting to work hard and study, especially for my third year economics class which is pretty difficult. We even have to do an oral presentation in class sometime this semester which will be very frightening for us exchange people! I am determined to do well however! I also have been doing a lot of trips during the weekends with a group called CUEF, which organizes activities for the exchange students. They are really well ... read more

Hello Everyone! I am writing this to you from my little room at Grenoble. I have been here for less than two weeks, and already it feels like my home. When I arrived in Grenoble with my Belgium family I was blown away by just how beautiful it was. The whole city is surrounded by mountains, all different shapes soaring towards the sky. City center is amazing as well. Most of it is just for pedestrians to walk, all the buildings are old, and there are lots of green places and parks as well as fountains. Not to mention all the restaurants and shopping there is! My University is part of a campus where two other universities make their home as well. It is a huge campus, filled with very different and sometimes bizarre buildings. I ... read more

Hello Everyone once again! I just got back two days ago from my trip to the region with the most history in France! The day after i got back from my trip to spain my fourth host family (Laurent, Danielle, and Julie) picked me up to sleep over at their house for the night. At three oclock in the morning we all woke up to start our 8 hour drive to La Dordogne(a region in the south) of France. I slept must of the way in the car. We got to where we were staying in the afternoon. It was a big old cottage house that was divided into rooms each with a little kitchen and bathroom. It was really cute and the countryside around it was picturesque. Then during the afternoon we went to the ... read more

Hello everyone! Spain was one of my favorite trips that i have ever went on. Why you ask? Because... 1: Spain(andalusia-a region in the south) is very very beautiful-the paysage itself is breathtaking- i couldnt stop looking at it! Also the towns are beautiful too-all white like the houses in greece. There are tons of flowers in the villages too as well as orange trees all along the roads. The smell is intoxicating. The ocean was beautiful too-the water was still cold though :p 2: It was a trip with the grad class so it was a lot of fun spending time with eachother all together. The ambiance was really good and i ended staying up late every single night-didnt sleep a whole lot-but it was worth it! 3: The trip didnt miss any of its ... read more

There is not one world to describe Rome. It is now my favorite city ive seen so far in Europe. Its beautiful and with all its history its breathtaking.
