Did you pass it on?
Nick, Glad you caught up with Ben. Did you also pass on any of your spare VD to him? BB

let's not go there for our reunion holiday!!! I just hate beggars, tricksters and thieves. Perhaps that is why people chose big hotels which shut them off form the locals. Lots of love to both of you. Susan

I also always made the same experiences as you with indian people. They are smelling awfully bad. They dont have any idea how to keep a place tidy. The german noble price winner in literature Günther Grass once said about India: God has taken a piece of shit and did let it drop down on the earth, and named it India (Gott hat einen Haufen Scheiße genommen und diesem auf die Erde fallen lassen - und dann Indien genannt). Maybe it is because of their religion/faith, the Hindu belief that makes them so lethargic. Because this belief teaches that you as a person cant change your faith....

Ohh Nick you heathen - you couldn't see how special Venice was! Just imagine it in pissing rain like when Patrick and I sw it. We spent the day trying to make our money stretch to marghuerita pizzas and a carafe of wine and tried to keep our feet above the water level. haha Enjoy the mainland

washing
As your loving mother, Nick, how can I possibly resist commenting on how pleased I was to read that you'd washed your clothes.............for the 1st time in HOW long?

OK who didn't ask their aunties opinion. I could have told you you would need a least a few days in Vienna. So much to see and take in. Schonbrunn spectacular, what about the opera house and just so much to soak in. Also there we went on the world's largest fairest wheel. Hope you had more time in Salzburg, one of my favourites. Loved Brugge if you get there, need a few days there also.

Its all good.
Ha this blog is a little behind the times.... things get better in the future but not without incident lol. We didnt do the Mine Tour.... I would have loved to but after forking out €33 each, for the Sound of Music we were a little short on funds! Salzburg is so nice though! We had rain which was the first since arriving in Cape Town in the pouring rain, so it was nice.

OK you guys is it time yet to turn around and come home. Doesn't sound like you are having much luck at the moment. Hope things improve a little for you. Austria is great - great mine tour from Salzburg. Wa in German when we went but the underground mine itself was fantastice regardless of understanding the guide. Great underground lake, fantastic slides to get from one level to another and you get to dress up like the KKK. Take care Kath

Funny how it works out, when Patrick and I were there 24 odd years ago we felt a bit the same. So obvioulsy hasn't changed except probably got worse. Once the main tourist things were seen we were out of there. Plus hated all those tourists ruining my photos. Don't like too many people getting in my shots and it is a bit hard to avoid there. Anyway keep safe.
