***Breaking News*** Wow, OK s***! What a day. Our last day in Hanoi and we had done nothing so far but watch movies and sleep in our hotel. As soon as you go outside you will be scammed and hassled until you have no money. On a previous day we had been asked for VD 100,000 for a bag of bananas and a portion of pineapple, i got the lady down to VD 30,000 which still seemed a rip off but what could you do. I unwillingly gave her 100,000 (about $10) which was the only note i had, and she assured me she had change. Once i had given her the money she said no no... 30,000 each.... 30 for bananas and 30 for pineapple... at which stage I argued with her and she was ... read more
Well we wanted different. Growing tired of beautiful city after beautiful city in Europe we were dying for a change. Something exciting. Something unlike home, unlike Europe. Well, we found it. We arrived to the Narai Hotel on Silom Road thanks to our sponsor Blair Leslie. He had arranged a pick up from the airport and 4 nights in a good hotel. Unfortunately when we arrived at the airport, our pick up was no where to be seen. We searched everywhere for my name on a card and found nothing. We ended up on the other side of arrivals at an information stand who contacted the guy via radio. He arrived confused, saying he had been waiting for us where we should have been. I wasn't in the mood to argue with him so we followed ... read more
Well we now had a few more days in Munich, which meant another night at Oktoberfest! Sunday was the last day of Oktoberfest, so i felt obliged to dress up for the occasion. Nicky could only join us for half the day so it meant that there was a spare Lederhosen lying around with my name on it! That day i bought a hat and shirt to top off the outfit, and Kell borrowed one of Susan's traditional jackets! Nicky had some connections and got us a free lunch at a reserved table, then we hit the rides to see how sick we could make ourselves before drinking. When Nicky left, Kell and I were left to find a table on our own which is a lot harder then you'd think. After a good half an ... read more
Our final adventure in Europe. Our plans of heading to Spain had gone out the window, along with a stack of Euro's. So we were heading to Asia early to ease our bank accounts, but not before a short stop in Switzerland and another few days in Munich. We took the train to Zürich from Munich with no problems at all. So far so good. Upon arrival I somehow miscalculated how long we had till we needed to board the train to Lucerne. Stupidly we took our time, had a million dollar coffee, paid $5 to use a toilet, had a wander, you know killing time. My brain suddenly remembered to 'carry the 1' and i realised we had missed our train. Not to worry though, trains head to Lucerne every hour or so. So we ... read more
***Because of our distrust of the computers in Thailand, actual photos will not be available till we are home*** There's nothing like getting off one train and then straight onto another. There's also nothing like being given wrong directions from someone that looks like a reliable staff member. After walking around Hauptbahnhof (Central Station) for half an hour we eventually found the U-Barn to Eching. Not before chowing down on another amazing bratwurst, though. Susan, Kell's aunt, and Nicky, Kell's cousin, met us at Eching Station. By that stage we were a sight for sore eyes, and we were glad to be welcomed into their house. Yes, a house, a real house, we could walk up stairs downstairs and out into the yard. Amazing! There was a kitchen, a working kitchen, a TV, lounge, the list ... read more
****Pics will come if i find them**** Ok well im sitting in a net cafe on an island in Thailand. Prague seemed like an eternity ago. So this will be poor. Prague, hmmmm. Um well, hmmmm. We were only in Prague 3 or 4 nights i think. We didn't really do much. Prague was good though because it was cheap. Because of this we decided to go on an organised tour of the city, which is something we were yet to do. Usually we would find our own way around. The tour included lunch and a boat ride and all that toury type of stuff. We went and saw the Prague Castle and all that, so the tour was good and our guide was nice. The night before we had been on a ghost through the ... read more

The alternative capital of Germany, Dresden was very cool. The main square in the old town however, was not so cool, it was under construction and totally ruined the vibe. There were awesome buildings and Churches that had been shot up but the allies, in the Old Town. And the new town was full of Punks, drinking and busking on the streets. We had booked a 4 bed dorm in a hotel/hostel, we had checked in a were making our way to our room when the overpowering smell of Indian got stronger and stronger. We opened our door to find a twenty something Indian man sitting in bed doing something on his laptop. The room was arranged like a family room. There were two single beds pushed together, one of which the Indian man was occupying, ... read more
We arrived at Merringdam U-Bahn Station mid morning it was cold, real cold, and did our best follow the directions to our hostel. Unfortunately I had forgotten to write to down the address of the place, all we had were directions that looked like they were written in German and put through a translation program on the Internet, not good. Half an hour to forty-five minutes later we arrived. The place looked clean, but a bit bland. We were staying in a 6 bed dorm, our room mates were a Canadian couple and a strange Italian guy, Marco, who was in Berlin for none other then juggling lessons. Or to see some sort of juggling master. No joke his bag was full of juggling pins, juggling balls and other weird juggling things. Later that night we ... read more
"Hey lovelies", yelled a big black mama, gesturing to Kell and I, as we wandered through the Red Light District. People watching in Amsterdam is much more interesting then it was in Paris. For those who have been there, you know I'm talking about, and to those who haven't it's not hard to imagine. Our hostel was pretty poor, we were in a four bed dorm, sharing with two girls who probably found as much interest in the Red Light District as most heterosexual males. They were Brazilian and came in late every night giggling and trying to be quiet. They were good fun, it's nice to have room mates every now and then, though 2 is enough. One of the hostels we looked at had a 30 bed dorm. Wouldn't like to try that on. ... read more
