I don’t believe it!
You’d sound like Victor Meldrew too if you were a reds fan! I do vaguely remember those days of zero responsibility when I took it all in my stride; going, doing whatever, whenever, wherever…Speaking of Palolem, we do have two-months off this summer, which isn’t the season for Goa, I know. Though when our kids have mastered the Mandarin, I reckon we’ll need a year or so in India, or the Asian circuit more generally, to unwind.

that's a shame. i wish i can tell you "i hope the next entry will tell a better story"...but you got a spoiler right there. hmn. i've just been to a not so fun trip myself, somehow i feel you. i loved pagudpud...the photos are lovely...the kids are very charming. keep safe you guys. x

Shame
I wish all our experiences travelling could be positive. The next entry may well tell a better story, though not neccesarily a a more postive one. I just hope the casual reader realizes that unfavourable situations do occur when travelling, anywhere, though these should not lead to sweeping generalizations or judgements of a people or their country. I'm sure even Ryan has a good side... atleast some of his fellow check in staff do;-)

Pagudpud is a nice spot.
Ryan neither works for Cebu Pacific nor Fillipino immigration, which is what makes the whole affair so frustrating. In his defence I don't doubt he could claim he was enforcing the rules.

'The Ryan'
We have also met a couple of 'Ryans' (using Ali's definition above!) in our time too. Not surprisingly they were usually affiliated in some way to a Filipino airline! Sometimes you just have to take a deep breath and jump through the hoops no matter how stupid the rules are! We are looking forward to reading your next blog which continues the story...we know what it's like being robbed of everything, left without a penny. Luckily we had Donna's parents with us when it happened (also in the Philippines!) and they could give us their bank card to use until we could get a replacement. Still a nightmare though!

I wouldn't have put up with Ryan either...
but at 63 I've earned the right to be a curmudgeon as Linda calls me. Note to self...never fly Cebu Pacific. Anyway, I'm glad that David's recent blog of your time in Shanghai inspired you to continue the blogs of your trip from NA to China...although I can understand in this case, and following, why you would rather forget the whole thing. However, your Followers are waiting with anticipation to receive the bad news.

You know I have noticed a very distinct change in the way people interact with me since I started travelling with kids. It doesn't matter how seasoned you are, people see something else. Of course sometimes this can work to your advantage, sometimes to your detriment. One day soon I'm sure you'll encounter this.
