Ryvita shares. Invest now in ryvita shares, coz that's what Lynne will be eating 'till Christmas... when I might buy some nice rice-cakes as a special treat.
I felt so helpless when you phoned from the internet cafe saying that the blog that you had spent half an hour writing had evaporated from the screen before you managed to publish it. How leg-gnawingly frustrating. You poor thing. Yes, perhaps getting your own lap-top would be a good idea. You could swirl it around your cabin and become a lap-top dancer! Hahaha.
We all LOVE your blog. Its been absolutely brilliant. Cant wait to get you home, mind.
Now, where did I put that Ryvita consignment....
Lots of love, Sam xxx
chocolate and Thai cuisine Thought that might get you interested.
Out yesterday to local Keynsham to get rid of all my clothes to a wonderful charity shop that wastes no money on beaurocracy and sends all its money to feed homeless children - I noticed the wonderful smell of chocolate through my car window. Forgot to mention that there is a huge Frys' chocolate factory here! I also discovered last night that the local Thai take away delivers to the marina gates ... shall pick up a menu today as my sister Al and her organ building boyfriend are visiting today. Off to unpack more boxes - next installment - the quackless duck and the biting swan. Along with Sam - shall miss the blog and cannot find the gallery either x
spiders/bigmen/insomnia and Saxes Ok - so you finally inspire me to make an advance booking to the croft on Skye - though it beats me how any of your digits can be dexterous enough to cope with anything other than chop sticks after such exposure - shall start saving for a vast and impenetrable kagoul.
Suffering from insomnia yet again - cannot sleep until have offloaded brain onto computer - logging on (alongside newly lit squirrel of Norwegian origins - how snug am I) a spider dropped on its web and hung neatly between me and the screen - well Lynne - I thought of you as I did t'other day when visiting the largest man on the marina for tea and cake. He lives on the smallest barge called Tom Thumb. He hates spiders and was infested - families of them daily waiting for him at dawn - webs drawn. Anyway - he has fitted electronic kit at bow and stern and at the beginning of the spider season (shall ascertain that one) has a special spider spray with which he sprays all surrounds of all orifices (of the boat). Shall pop along tomorrow and get all info and send it on to you.
Meanwhile stuff continues - Mark nods his head - says no - it will never fit - when his back is turned I scuttle on board with another load and hid it wherever (so many places on a barge) and the boat sinks another inch. Come back soon - whilst she still floats!
Thought for first Saxette rehearsal that you need me at - how about Saxettes come here when work finishes. Supper on barge and rehearse in large marina club gazebo (has sustainable rubber flaps and heating if needed for winter use). That way you could visit bargeland before winter kicks in. Just a thought - I think the people here would love it and they would not intrude.
Must go now - Orion gently rocking me to sleep ...enjoying blog and look forward to more from you all ....Louise
fingers Lovely to read your Blog entry, Jonathan! So pleased you enjoyed your taster of Skye. Let's fix up a TCB tour of the Highlands and Islands - perhaps Cal-Mac ferries would be interested in some entertainment...
Enjoy Ireland. Dont let Madame McSqueak ruin it with her penny whistle, and' all, an' all.
fat chance Hmmm. Perhaps I should have a life-size photograph of the Cuillins pasted to the bedroom window. This way Lynne might make me tea first thing in the morning more often! Thanks for the tip, althought I'll hide the video camera if I give this a try.

Orkney Squarkney Wow. Sounds terriffic. I am sure you sound heaps better than you think you do. Perhaps the new reeds will add that certain 'Je ne sais quoi'.
Just got back from gig in London, next stop: the dentist in Sherbs, then Crewkerne probably.
Enjoy Skye!

sofa not good! Hi Lynne
can't sleep - brain on overload. Talking with furniture people yesterday and Mark (who has seen your cottage) - the leather 3 seater will not fit through your door - sorry about that. What about Emmaus though - there are loads of all varieties there - and rarely more than £70. Just an idea.
The boat is gently rocking - very surreal - I am off to make Ovaltine to help me sleep - very apt as it was Orions' cargo back in 1935! Incidentally, I have been named Louise Orion as there are a few Loos' around the marina already - like this name. Can't wait for Marianne to meet Orion! Glad the cruise is going well, but looking forward to you coming back! Oh - and the farm shop? Really would like to take Mark there xx
Golden Banjos at dawn Sounds like you are having a great time. All I can imagine is that due to the ming-ing nature of the 'Gentleman Hosts' you are trying to get out of the 'Scottish Country Dance' night by complaining of blisters. I usually go the whole hog and involve doctors/nurses/paramedics etc to make absolutely sure there is no danger of me having to dance, but your 'blisters' are a reasonable excuse - well done.
I 'Googled' Steve Galler who has a web page, but sadly no sound clips. Wait a minute I'll look on YouTube. Back in a mo....
Nope. Nothing there. Take some video and I'll post it.
Enjoy the Orkneys. Dont forget to visit the quaintly named village of 'TWATT'. (No, seriously readers, there is a village by that name on Orkney!).
Elastic waistbands Dear gastronaughts,
What's for lunch? Glad the concerts are going well, I'm assuming your posh skirts/trousers have plenty of give, glad you took my advice.
Sorry not to meet you last week Lynne, W. and I went away for a few days to visit our frinds in France, where strangely enough eating and drinking were our main jobs and responsibilities. Baggy trousers came in handy!!!! The cakes in La Rochelle were to die for....... I resorted to my sea-food- and-eat-it-diet I'm afraid.
Back to the grindstone now.... have to pay for my lovely Cioch coat somehow. Take care,
"2".
Take care and eat yer greens, wear yer vest etc......
Shirley.
grand junction road hmmmm ???? i even googled this one...... but in the end it will have to be a guess.......
was it a canal???
(and can i have first prize please!)
enjoy the trip all of you

juice Hi - how is the trio today. We have just got up and would love a glass of your famous fruit juice. Marks' parents want to buy us an engagement/barge initiation present - juicer would be ideal. What make is yours? I think it was cast iron - really want one to match the barge engine. Look forward to hearing where you are - shall look at a map today to check your route xxx L and M
does cream make you violent? What are black bullets? Regarding the cream and Danish pastries - have you no respect whatsoever for your poor clarinet pads?
Can you let us know where that excellent farm shop was - we had nothing at all for breakfast - were up so early we could not even beg one from fellow bargers - Mark did spot a heron though although he could not get the harpoon out quick enough - but thats another story (to be added to the Bear Story) xxx Louise and Mark
marmite sandwich Great to hear all is going splendidly. I have also been on the sea food: fish fingers and beans. Yum! Much nicer than that ponsy crap you've been getting.
No news here, except that the neighbour dropped a sprog and I had to make nice comments about how cute he was ('nt) so as not to upset the mother. Yuk, pass me a bucket.
The kitchen is still quite tidy and I have been doing laundry....
Off to london later. Miss you lots, Sam
breakfast Hi - what are you having for breakfast? Bet its not the boring healthy option ..think you should send us all a photo right now! Looking forward to a full and unedited account of your activities asap..trust you left enough clean crockery for Sam to last the fortnight ..hello to Audrey and Jonathon. Off to make tea and move stuff to barge xx Louise
Bon Voyage Perhaps it's a bit soon to say Bon Voyage, actually - I should have said: "Bon Packing".
Looking forward to your Round Britain Blog anyway.

fridge On the other hand it could be in the fridge and the cheese in the box file? Have been tasting real cider at a village fete in Kelston (bargeland) this afternoon - maybe ours is not the right advice to take right now..M and L x (3 more days until we become full time water gypsies)
passport Your passport will be with your MOT certificate, Insurance documents, and all the other things you can never find!
Haha! Glad the packing is going well.
Sam

Set up of BLOG Lynne, you STAR!
Love the photo, looking forward to your trip. Have a wonderful time the three of you. Make sure you get plenty of sleep, stick to a Vegan diet, wear your vest, eat your greens and have plenty of clean knickers.
All the best,
Shirley.
PS A word of advice regarding the food. EAT and ENJOY! ( Mind the odd elastic waistband in your posh outfits could be a practical solution, as you know what they say ....."Eat it today, wear it tomorrow."
Music You clever little so and so! You have fixed yourself up with your very own BLOG without any help!!! You'll be teaching me next!!!!
Am just printing out lots of lovely music for your cruise.
I hope lots of people subscribe to this blog and write lots of nice replies.
Now put the kettle on.....
