Here we are in sunny Newcastle & what a fab day! Me Mam & Dad have been on ship & loved every minute. Gave them lunch then took them on tour round ship. Mam now saving for a cruise! We all ate in the posh dining room then Audrey & Jonathan went off into the toon on a mission - I asked them to 1. find & photo a stotty cake, 2. find & buy black bullets, 3. take a photo of Eldon Sq & 4. buy me a copy of the evening chronicle. Mission accomplished, Geordie Challenge completed. Will think of Scottish Challenge for them next...

Had lovely supper tonight on the lido deck. I had a little fishy on a little dishy (had too really), followed by orange mousse cake, looked gorgeous so I piled my plate & added a little fruit for decoration. As soon as I started devouring my pud I realised that it didn't taste much of orange, had very little cake & certainly no mousse - I'd piled my plate with cream!! Someone had pixed up the signs, silly me! We howled with laughter, tears streaming down our faces.

So far have had lobster, crab, crayfish, haddock, gammon; breakfast today was crunchy nut cornflakes & 2 danish pastries, yes that's healthy Louise, normally it would be 4 danish pastries! Off to a quiz later tonight then maybe I'll try a quick cha-cha before turning in..

First concert tomorrow in Edinburgh, followed by playing for afternoon tea on Sunday & evening concert then too.

More news soon! Happy barge Louise & Mark, thinking of you both.

Lynne, Audrey & Jonathan.

marmite sandwich
Great to hear all is going splendidly. I have also been on the sea food: fish fingers and beans. Yum! Much nicer than that ponsy crap you've been getting. No news here, except that the neighbour dropped a sprog and I had to make nice comments about how cute he was ('nt) so as not to upset the mother. Yuk, pass me a bucket. The kitchen is still quite tidy and I have been doing laundry.... Off to london later. Miss you lots, Sam

does cream make you violent?
What are black bullets? Regarding the cream and Danish pastries - have you no respect whatsoever for your poor clarinet pads? Can you let us know where that excellent farm shop was - we had nothing at all for breakfast - were up so early we could not even beg one from fellow bargers - Mark did spot a heron though although he could not get the harpoon out quick enough - but thats another story (to be added to the Bear Story) xxx Louise and Mark

juice
Hi - how is the trio today. We have just got up and would love a glass of your famous fruit juice. Marks' parents want to buy us an engagement/barge initiation present - juicer would be ideal. What make is yours? I think it was cast iron - really want one to match the barge engine. Look forward to hearing where you are - shall look at a map today to check your route xxx L and M
