RE: fantastic blog & pics Hi Tom & Anja
I am really enjoying your blog and pictures. Very envious!!! When you're back you'll have to come up to Newcastle and we can catch a match and you can tell me all about your travels.
In Oz, make sure you go to Manly beach in Sydney - thats where to learn to surf! Catching the ferry there on a Sunny morning is magical. Bondi isn't up to much. Wish we'd gone into Blue Mountains but didn't have time. If you are venturing up the East coast we found the following great and worth a visit: Noosa north of Brisbane was great, especially the food in the surf club on Hastings street with a great view over the beach. It was also a great base to travel to Fraser Island (a must!) roaming dingos, freshwater lakes, the famous Maheno shipwreck etc... Byron Bay was a bit bohemian but well worth the visit to see the lighthouse on the penninsula and a photo at Australia's most easterly point. The Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary in Brisbane is brilliant if you can find it - get a hire car with a sat nav!!! Bar that we went to Airlie Beach as a base to explore the Whitsunday Islands. We caught the force of the Cyclone that wrecked devastation along much of the East coast so pick your day for boat trips carefully!!!
Anyways, keep the blogs rolling. Hope to catch you on your return to hear all about it!
Take care the both of you
Paul
The one that got away.... Most were from Vietnam to be honest, so keep your eyes peeled! My favourite - though I was too slow with the camera - was a guy riding a bike with a 10ft ladder over his shoulder!
Quality Transport Always A sound comprehensive photo collection. I have been meaning to compile one for a long time but now i fear that those time may have passed. No parasol wielding drivers though! One of my favourites!
Mother! Needed more than a bit of antiseptic mother, the guy cleaned it with Iodine and god knows what else. There was a little flap of skin (size of a matchstick no more) that needed chopping off, you should have seen how white he went as i held it in one hand and motioned for scissors with the other!
Showaddawosit thingymebobs Here we go again having lunch at work and almost choking on my cheese and pickle sandwich (on brown bread to be a bit healthier) I hope you put some germolene on yours and Anjas wounds and will you keep away from motorbikes, I have always said they are dangerous!! Once again I found your blog very interesting but I will not be mentioning the dolphins at work as I can't pronouce whatever it is they are called. I can't help it I am a menopausal mother!!!!
Love the blog! Hope you're both well. Looks like you're having an amazing time.
I absolutely love the blog....hope I still get time to read it when I'm back at work! What am I thinking...I'll have more time!
Take care x
I am speechless Just what every mum wants to read, an accident on a coach!!!! I almost choked on my lunch whilst reading about your exploits in Vietnam, will have to have a glass of wine to get over the shock. Enjoy yourselves and KEEP SAFE!
Motorbikes I can only recommend watching BBCs TopGear Special in Vietnam...all three on tiny motorbike through the whole of the country.
Anyway, all the best and SAFE trip!
Looks amazing big fella, hope you're enjoying the sights! Although, I'm surprised you haven't been arrested for that dirty beard...Joey Barton would be proud!
I'm interested to know what you thought of China? Enjoy Hong Kong, I'm eagerly awaiting your next blog.
Your boys are still in mid-table obscurity and Shola still hasn't hit that barn door! Excellent new albums from The Strokes and Bright Eyes must be bought if you get chance!
Take care TomAnja!

Travel Blog Tom - shame we didn't get to see each other in Paris. We were having a bit of a rough time but things are looking better now.
Contrary to what you hint in your last entry (April 18th, 2011) you have more followers than just your mum. I will keep checking your progress.
Enjoy my friends. You guys are living the dream of many of us sitting behind a computer 11 hours a day!
Take care
Sylvain
Sounds like you're both having a great time! The Panda sanctuary sounds cool, just divvent put yer fingers through the cage ok?! News from home - Nicky is 10 weeks pregnant so a mini Smith is due 11/11/11 (it'll never happen then like) - Nicky's Mam passed away last week so broke the news a tad early to tell her before she passed, so its a cloud with a silver lining. Enjoying reading your blogs - keep em coming! take care pAUL
