My first overnight hiking trip of the summer was through the Hylite Canyon area all the way back to Bozeman, overall about 20ish miles. Hylite Reservoir is a great place for people to go to get out of the crazy summer heat of the high plains. The time late April, the place Northern Yellowstone National Park, the People: Mike Sulock, Kezia Manlove, Mike "Moon" Sweely and myself. Shortly After seeing my brothers off my friend Amanda came to pay me and Montana State University a visit! During her visit we got to see a very rare sight in Yellowstone, A Grizzly Bear and a Grey Wolf pack fighting over the carcass of a dead bison about three miles from us! We ran into a bunch of Wolf Watchers with their spotting scopes and hung out with them for a bit and watched the wolves and the bear duke it out for a couple of hours. Eating Right and Sleeping at the Canyon One thing to always consider when taking long road trips that cover large chunks of land (3,000+ miles) in a short amount of time (one week or less) is fuel -not just for the car, but for the body. Needless to say we were plum exhausted when we pulled up to my friend Triffin's house, but that didn't stop Triffin, Andy, and I from talking and catching up until 2 in the morning The main purpose for visiting Las Angeles for me was to catch up with three of my close friends from College of Santa Fe: Aaron Andzik, Zach Michaelis, and Triffin Koustas and that's exactly what we did. RHYOLITE After waking up in Beatty, Nevada (which seems to have some beef with Bank of America -check out the following picture) in the same parking lot I ended my last post. The month and a half of studing and preperation reached it's climax the week of January 8th, when I sat for my Master's Exams on Monday and Wednesday.
