Dressed for Success
If I'm going to be testing, I'm going to be looking good! The month and a half of studing and preperation reached it's climax the week of January 8th, when I sat for my Master's Exams on Monday and Wednesday. These Master's Exams are a series of tests each with four questions and with a sitting time of 2 hours, they can ask anything within the Mathematical subjects of:
Analysis (the study of "smooth" functions and their properties)
Abstract Algebra (the study of 'sets' -a list of objects, and an operation(s) associated with them -i.e. addition and multiplication)
Linear Algebra (the study of a Vector Spaces and operations on them -this is the matrix stuff, not the movie but the little boxes with numbers in them)
Topology (the study of set and a property that sets can have being "open", "closed", "both" or "neither")
A friend of mine and I had a good idea for taking these exams, because there was a two hour break in between exams each day, we decided to drive out to
Bozeman Hot Springs fifteen minutes out side of town and soak in the natural hot spring water in the area and enjoy going from the hot soak to the cold soak. This is a great

Andy Bouwman and Robin Rumple pondering perhaps a huge road trip (hopefully to the arctic ocean this summer!) facility and it is (as of 2007) only $7.50 ($6.00 with MSU student ID) for the day. Granted this is more expensive than
Chico Hot Springs ($6.00) and
Norris Hot Springs ($5.00), it is closer and has 11 different pools of differing temperatures (super cold 50 degree water to damn hot 80 degree water) and a couple of sauna's to enjoy! Unfortunatly unlike Norris, it doesn't have it's liquer license and beverages are not permited into the pool and unlike Chico it is not a full service resort. But that didn't make it any less pleasent to soak in between exams.
I feel I did fairly well on three of the four exams, the Abstract Algebra exam was extremely difficult and we'll see how it pans out on Friday January 19th. Worst case scenario I've got to take another exam or two in April before I graduate hopefully in May. One thing for sure is that they can't take points off for style, I dressed in a nice two piece suit that my friend Giovanni let me borrow.
After the exams were done, I had a little soiree at my house on Friday which was indeed a joyous occasion! There were drinks,

Celebrate Good Times, Come On! Justin, Brett, Erin, Myself, and Tom food, dancing, games, and some movies all to be had at this little shin-dig. As you can see from the video above we all were educated in how to do the worm.
I totally blame Mike Sulock for the fuzzy pictures! Peace Out from the BoZone.

fuzzy photo
michael sulock would like to point out that if it wasn't for michael sulock the fuzzy photos would not exist at all. also, it is not michael sulock's fault that luke shorty's camera takes fuzzy photos.
