Good Morning Everybody! Just had breakfast at the Dubhlinn House recommended by Rick Steves. First of all, just want to say thankyou to everybody who sent me bday wishes on facebook. If anybody is interested in how I spent most of it...well, most of it was on a scary road from Galway to Doolin last night. The start of our day was mellow though...we stopped at the abbey to take pics, take a tour and shop. Then we did some quick shopping in Galway also where I found my irish sweater and probably what made us so late. we didn't leave there until 4pm. We took the shortest route, trying to avoid the darkness...but no luck. I wanted to see the Burren's National Park but not in the friggin' dark!!!! OMG! I was warned of the ... read more

Okay, somehow i will try to make this quick.... First of all, I survived my first day of driving in Ireland...Yeah!!! Second of all, this place is so- charming and picturesque...I feel like royalty on vacation at a country cottage. It's a fairytale, and a relaxing night well deserved after white knuckling it all the way from Dublin. I could not have made it without a great co-pilot either. Warren is a great travel partner and compliments my high string when it comes to stressful situations like this. Without the GPS system and Warren telling me to stop veering off into the lefthand ditch...I'd probably still be trying to find my way past all the round abouts. I think there should definitely be a seperate lane for strictly tractors and tour buses....Ugh! Unfortunately, we did not ... read more

What an incredible day! I'm soooo glad that we decided to do BOTH tours, one each in Scotland and Ireland. it was a long day but very worthwhile. We left about 5:30 am and had to take a charter bus to Belfast, then transfer to our paddywagon tour guide. It was a long ride to our first destination which was the rope bridge in the Causeway area. Warren was the brave one while I snapped pics. Bye the way, did somebody order some sun just to arrive at the perfect moment? It poured rain until we arrived and waited ten minutes for the bridge to open. After that the sun was out, blue skies, fairly warm and incredible views. Beaches were beautiful, the biggest waves I've ever seen...apparently this is a surfing area as well. After ... read more

Made it to Dublin! Got a late start from Edinburgh as they forgot our wakeup call but still had time to grab my starbucks mug and sample some whisky for breakfast. Bought a really nice one to take home. Just a quick plane ride from Edinburgh and we were blessed with some sun. Yeah!! We decided that with limited time to take a cab straight to the hotel before venturing around. We really made good use of our few hours before most of the sights closed. Touring around Dublin is so easy...just hopped a tour bus across the street that arrives about every 15 minutes. Went straight to Christ's church and then St. Patricks and took lots of pics. From there we went onto the Guiness Brewery where Warren poured his free pint. We met a ... read more

....For me and my true-love we'll never walk again on the bonnie, bonnie banks of Loch Lomond. Haven't I heard these lyrics before? Oh yeah, Rod Stewart. Anyway... What a terrific day we had! We woke up to SUN!!! And we made the most of it. Started it off with a great hotel breakfast, then caught a cab back up to the Edinburgh castle to meet with the tour. Had time for some better pics and shopping before hopping the bus up to the west highlands Trossach's area. We started out at Dunblane, where they made the first military flintlock pistol which was used to fire the first shot in the 1775 American revolution. America was the biggest buyer of this pistol apparently. Anyway, we stopped for coffee and met "Hammish" the famous highland bull, took ... read more

Hi Everybody! We made it to Edinburgh about 6am in the morning while the city was still mysteriously dark and sleepy. Took the bus straight from the airport to the city center, near our hotel in old town. Unfortunately our bus had an accident where the car in the next lane bounced off the curb, then collided with our bus, and ended up sideways. A bit of an upset to start out the morning but we were quickly esqorted onto a new bus. Soon after we arrived at the hotel to drop off the luggage and they graciously let us check in, unpack and unwind before Naz's arrival. We decided to meet Naz at the Edinburgh Castle. After a quick cat nap, leaving the hotel we look up to immediately see the isurprise of a beautiful ... read more

Yeah. I know. But it's the closest I've come to NY so I'm making the most of it. Was not expecting the muggy weather though...I had to peel off 3 layers. Yuck. 71 degrees and 70 percent humidity. We already checked out a few shops and the fast food that this airport has to offer, I'm killing time online while Warren is off drinking a beer somewhere. I'm going to try a Nathan's hotdog before I leave. I know the rest of our trip will be much more exciting than this but I definitely want to come back and see the REAL NYC!! Again, happy halloween everybody. I'll update our first day while some of you are nursing your party hangovers. LOL =) ... read more

I'm so glad to have the day off!! I really need this day to take care of last minute details and to enjoy the last 9 days with the comforts of my home and pets. I am very much looking to an adventure, but it's always nice to know I have my home to come back too. It's experiences such as this that make me appreciate who I am and where I live.... Current weather in Edinburgh? 57 and cloudy....pouring rain predicted on Sunday. Dublin? Not too bad at the moment...but I think the Seattle rain may follow us. Oh well....it will be just like home! Why in the world would I possibly pick Scotland and Ireland for a vacation in November? Well, why not? It's on my list, it's my birthday, and I have somebody ... read more
