This past Sunday Shauna and I, spent our afternoon at the ballpark in Jamsil watching fifth place LG Twins take on second place Lotte Giants. With a month before playoffs, every game counts for LG. To date this is our third baseball game. The one common denominator is the Lotte Giants. It seems every game we are destined to watch the Giants are playing. Although this is partially my own fault or was it? I was pretty certain the game was suppose to be Twins versus Eagles. But wherever I obtained my information was tainted. Either way. Today's game we ended up sitting in right field. Tickets 8,000 won. Can't complain. Before we located our seats, we spent a bit of time outside the stadium killing the hour before the game started. We wandered into the ... read more

Let's be serious for five minutes. Wandering through Hongdae in Seoul, is like walking through the Taste of Colorado minus the tickets. Taste of Colorado is a one weekend, three day experience in the heart of Denver where restaurants bring a selection of simple foods and recreate them for you to try. It's a teaser menu. A menu big enough to entice you to their restaurant. Hongdae, is like this everyday. There are little eateries everywhere. And since bumping into Justin about a month ago (again). We've been indulging on eclairs, ice cream cones, artisan breads, pretzels, macaroons, barbeque beef, noodle dishes, sweet bean pies, fruit shakes and more. It's been one heck of an edible cornucopia adventure! One unexpected Friday evening, Shauna and I take off into Seoul after work for dinner. Justin calls says, ... read more

So, here's the deal. A good friend of mine has been stuck in Seoul for like 3 months dealing with back pains, going to the doctor, taking tests, and becoming a lab rat for the doctors to asses the problems he's been having. He's tried several times to explain different medical strategies to possibly help his ailments out but the docs have always declined since he's not actually a certified doctor. For example, some time back he asked them to do an MRI. Just do the test. Etc. The docs said it wasn't really necessary. Recently while in Seoul, a doctor said you know what you need an MRI. Seriously! It's been almost a year since the first conversation with the first doc about the MRI. And now his wish had finally come true... This friend ... read more

Wake up. Breakfast. Depart for Airport. 30 minute taxi. hour flight north on Vietnam Airlines. Land. Grab a cab. Ending up at Hoa's Place near the beach. It must have been here since the war in 1973. Everything is crumbling or falling in around it. It's the only old structure still standing as far as the eye can see. And the eyes can see at least 5-kilometers up and down China Beach. Hoa is a super friendly gentleman, running a family owned and operated establishment. Really we cannot complain, after all. The price for the night is less than dinner $12 USD. What bothers me most about 'Nam... the American dollar being charged everywhere. And if you want to pay in Dong, 'Nam's currency, they (Vietnamese) up the price. Dumping our bags, we packed a beach ... read more

Our journey began at 8:30 am starting with breakfast at the resort while Duc + Lam packed our gear onto the motorcycles. Today's adventure ride ran 237 kilometers from Dak Lak to Nha Trang north then east along several roadways through Central Highlands finishing along the South China Sea. It was an amazing second day that lasted more than 8.5-hours. Incredibly long. It was an arduous ride for all our butts. But it was an epic journey. We arrived in Nha Trang just before 5:30 pm. It was simple. Wake up. Get dressed. Have breakfast. Come back to hotel. Get bags. Pay. Sit down and wait for the Easy Riders aka Duc + Lam, to arrive. So, what did happen? We woke up. Showered. Dressed. Packed. Got to the cafe (tin tin). Waited for the waiter. Waited for the food. Waited for the waiter to wait for the food. Waited some more. And some more. Ate our food. Ordered seconds. Waited for the waiter who waited for the second round of food. It neared 7:45 then 7:55, then... we were late. Walking back to the hotel, we spotted Duc + Lam, the bikes were ready, they were smiling and we were stuffed full of food and ready for the open road. "Sorry, guys," Shauna said, "it'll be like 5-minutes, just need to ... read more

Our first visit into Tin Tin Cafe, was on Wednesday July 6th after the Crazy House and a bit of walking through Da Lat. We had decided to find a nice cafe, sip on coffee and eat dessert because neither of us was truly hungry. Walking into the restaurant we found it deserted usually a bad sign but we decided to give it a shot. Perusing the menu we both ordered ice cream sundaes, Shauna went with coconut and I went taro. Both of us ordered coffee. The sundaes came in these neat lotus glass dishes. The sundae consisted of three scoops of ice cream, chocolate sauce, peanuts, fruit shavings, cylinder cookie and topped with a cherry. They were the perfect looking sundae. Digging into the ice cream I was instantly surprised at the delicious taste. ... read more

Wandering away we discussed the crazy house's relative beauty although I continued to state its image was 100% different then the LP guidebook photo. The only thing was the book was in the hotel room. It would have to wait until later. Turning left we walked a few buildings down watching the road disappear off into the distance away from town. Turning around we went back to the starting point turned left and went down a narrow alley. Thirty yards down hill we moved left and right through the concrete maze until we reached a Tran Phu street. Walking the main thoroughfare for a few minutes we realized an abundance of traffic increasing along with the amount of noise. Dodging vehicles we crossed the street reaching the front steps of an in progress renovation of a ... read more

Contemplating over the last twenty minutes how to describe the Crazy House experience and I'm still trying to decipher this experience. Ripping through my mind I withdrew several slides of art history books displaying Gaudi creations all over Spain. His twisting shapes, bending iron, and colorful ideas filled my head. Looking over the architectural drawings on display near the main entrance there twisting roof lines, swirling window pains and bright beautiful colors reminded me of Dr. Seuss. But again... how do I describe all this bending turning twisted architectural excellence, I don't. I just upload all my photographs and let you take the Crazy House tour for FREE. Hope you enjoy? Oh Yea... If you are ever in Da Lat, you can head out to the Crazy House yourself but your first and only question should ... read more
