Ian and I had been wanting to visit Salem, MA for a couple of years now and we finally planned a date to do so. We brought Casey and Jon along with us. Salem is an interesting town because in many ways it is a typical New England town, but there is so much history here that has made it famous in history books, literature and folk-lore. I had promised my dad a SeaDogs (Red Sox AA Baseball team in Portland, ME) for Fathers Day and although it was late, we were finally able to round up the whole family on the same night. We are probably one of the only couples that regularly celebrates their 1/2 year dating anniversaries as well as full year, but we do. This year our 6 1/2 year fell during our vacation week from work and the weather was fantastic. It was sunny and high 80's/low 90's! Ian and I were going to Florida with Ian's mom for his cousin's wedding, and decided to make a little vacation out of it as well. On a cold Thursday morning in Maine last March, the three of us drove to Manchester, NH where we had booked cheaper flights than from Maine. It is a cute, super-easy little airport. OK, I am writing this in August and this trip actually took place in January, but I just started this blog and this seemed like a worthwhile and memorable trip to include.
