"That's all I want now, a fiery life." - Anais Nin
Many of our adventures take place in our own state or region, but we have big plans - and in addition to planning our wedding, we our planning a healthy, happy, and travel-filled life together...
Ian and I had been wanting to visit Salem, MA for a couple of years now and we finally planned a date to do so. We brought Casey and Jon along with us. Salem is an interesting town because in many ways it is a typical New England town, but there is so much history here that has made it famous in history books, literature and folk-lore. It was the location of the infamous witchtrials of 1692 and this claim to fame makes the town basically turn into a Halloween spectacular for the entire month of October! It is accessible from the T in Boston and there are frequent bus tours that go, but we decided to drive from as we wanted to be on our own time table. And the kids wanted to be back

There were 6 of us - mom & Dad, Ian and I, my sister Casey and her boyfriend Jon. Ian and I were to meet the four of them at Hadlock Field in front of the gates. We arrived first, which is highly unusual. We parked at our usual location - at a Chinese Restaurant down the street, where they charge $5 and it's only a short walk (the designated lots fill up so fast, local businesses charge for their lots and it's no more expensive and often easier to get out at the end of the night.) Our

This year our 6 1/2 year fell during our vacation week from work and the weather was fantastic. It was sunny and high 80's/low 90's! Actually I was a little worried about clouds when we set out in the morning, but Ian reassured me it would be fine - and it was! It was about a 2 hour drive. We drove through OOB and despite it being a Tuesday, it was packed, so we drove down the road and paid $10 to park in the Pine Point lot, which even though only a mile down the road feels like a nicer beach...but it was packed!! We grabbed our gear - blankets, books,

In the meantime, we take as many day-trips, and weekend getaways as possible. I have been lucky enough to travel in England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Paris - France, and more...and together we have explored in Nashville, Florida, Boston, and Quebec City.

On a cold Thursday morning in Maine last March, the three of us drove to Manchester, NH where we had booked cheaper flights than from Maine. It is a cute, super-easy little airport. Luckily we had a direct flight to Orlando, and on the way down we were all able to sit in the same row. Arriving in Florida is always like Paradise (except for the hella long lines at the car rental desk) because as soon as you step out of the airport there are Palm Trees to greet you, and the weather was perfect - warm and balmy. Even taking the shuttle tram to the luggage pick-up was

Ian and I were in Nashville for 6 days. I found out I was going for a work convention and Ian decided to join me and make the most out of "work" as there was plenty of downtime scheduled for us to explore! We arrived on Friday night, Jan 6th. The flight was nice, we were on smaller planes than either of us had ever flown on before, but we were comfortable, and with just two seats on each side of the aisle we could snooze and lounge without worrying about drooling on a neighbor. We had a short stop-over in Cincinatti, just long
