So here we are, at last the trip has begun in earnest. On monday we decided, upon waking to cloudy skies, that a trip to the zoo was in order and so we gallantly set off in the pouring rain for a potentially culturally enriching experience. Taronga zoo was our destination but to reach our goal of viewing the finest collection of animals that sydney has to offer, we were forced to climb aboard a ferry. From Circular Quay we took the boat across the harbour in conditions more aquainted to England than supposedly sunny australia. The zoo itself is opposite central sydney and in spite of the rain we did get some great views across the harbour. We saw kangaroos, bears, crocodiles, tigers, lions, chimps, snow leopards and my particular highlight, gorillas. The day was
