Well followers, what an interesting weekend! We were initialling heading off on the Friday, but just got too hard with the loss of an Aunty and reorgainising work for the Funeral and then we then reorganised the following week and left 6.30am Saturday 19th March 2011 and came back home on the Monday morning. The moth and I were to meet Jen & Mick for breakfast at Shoal Bay and then book into the Caravan Park. The Harveys, Megan & Chloe, Chris & Kim and Shauna & Scotty were to arrive later. I knew from the moment we arrived and called to see how far away Jen and Mick were that it would be an interesting weekend. They hadn't yet left so we thought we would go and see if we could put our van on ... read more

Well, where will I start, probably at 7.30am when we left on Friday 11/02/11! unfortunatley I had a client to see at Booral which is near stroud on The Bucketts Way, so The Moth dropped me off and he was to head for a game of golf, but he decided to drop The Ark at the van park and explore the surrounding areas and come and collect me at 2pm-well I had hoped the usual finish time with this client, but not this time, a few issues but was out of there at 4pm, always the way when you are heading off somewhere. Because The Ark is so old it can't be put up by one person, 2 can do it but if any one offers to help we don't say no! So we arrive at ... read more

Well the countdown is on! This time we are off to Hawks Nest-The Moth desperately wants to stay there, I'm not fussed either way as long as we can get away in The Ark again, I'm having withdrawals! The usual crew can't make it this time, but we will be joined by the beautiful Diana & the fabulous Dave. It will be an interesting trip we are sharing The Ark, they should feel very privledged as only our most precious friends get to sleep in The Ark, so far those that have haven't done it twice!? So until our adventure in a few days you will have to wait in anticipation as to the fun & games we have. Charmaine ... read more

This is the most eventful trip yet! Dungog, what can I say. Phoned to book powered sites for 7-9/01/2011, no problem. Decided to leave home after a bit of work in the morning, pack The Ark, shower, lunch and off we go... so we thought! What a disaster, it had rained quite heavy for a week beforehand and The Ark had been left open so our kids could use it to sleep in over the Christmas/New Year period. About 11am we started to pack the van-water, water everywhere which now was a drop in the ocean after the floods in Queensland, but at the time sooo much water, my freshly covered lounge cushions and curtains-soaked, dripping wet. fortunately only one of the mattresses were wet, so at least we had a dry bed! So we decided ... read more

We headed off on our first adventure in The Ark, Mick, Jenny, Chrs & Kim would be joining us at different times over the weekend. the trip to Gloucester wasn't as uneventful as the trip home when we purchased it! We had packed it all up attached it to the car ready to head off on a sunny Friday morning. well so we thought, checked the lights-not all working!! Being new at this we thought it could be more than globes, so we headed down to the local repco and got the globes we needed, now the new ones worked and the others didn't-go figure! Eventually we got it all fixed it is now lunch time. we head off thinking all is good. We go no further than 5 minutes driving and the roof vent comes ... read more

Well my first blog, lets see how I go. We had been looking around for a while at Camper trailers as they were in our price range and we thought this was an inexpensive way to see if we liked the lifestyle as we had tried the caravaning thing once before when our children were young teenagers, we all hated it! and never did it again. Our couple of our friends have bought themselves vans-one a camper van and one a pop top. We really wanted to go away with them on weekends but funds were limited and would even go for a tent setup since we were empty nesters now and only ourselves to worry about. We mentioned our plans to The Moths father and he mentioned a friend of theirs had a camper trailer ... read more

I COULDN"T FIND THIS INITIAL BLOG, SO I REWROTE IT, BUT I HAVE NOW FOUND IT AND THOUGHT I MAY AS WELL PUBLISH IT AS WELL. Well here I go, my first travelblog: We had been looking at Camper trailers for a while as two of our friends had purchased a Camper Van and a Caravan to go away at weekends, we didn't have much to spend so were even prepared to do the full on tent camping, still young enough - well if we have a decent mattress! Anyway, Tonys parents mentioned a friend of theirs had a camper trailer for sale for a $1000, we were going to Canberra for a few days to work so went to Cootamundra to look at it the weekend before. What a bargain-it is old-well not as old ... read more
