I am glad things are changing Hi Rana, Thank you for the comment. I am an Indian myself and I wrote that article many years ago. At that time it was like what I have mentioned but if things are improving for the better then I am really glad. regards, ken
Your comment about no Indian women outside after 6 pm seems to indicate that you may not have visited any metropolitan city. I suggest you do that before publishing a blog with wrong information. Whether you are Indian or not is not the issue. Publishing wrong information is. You seem to think that only Bangalore has a night life worth mentioning. My friend, maybe you should travel more and broaden your horizons. The dowry and other aspects that you speak about exist, but is on the decrease particularly in urban India, as awareness and casting off of old negative customs happen. You seem to have travelled only among rural areas in India, so get your facts straight and travel more before misinforming others.
So True! Roads in India and places nearby like Nepal are nuts. I haven't been, but I read one guy's account driving through the Himalayas that is priceless and cracks me up. It's worth a read, visit page59.com or to that story specifically, http://page59.com/post/469525767/pokhara-to-kathmandu. I love these photos! "Alert today, alive tomorrow!" hahaha. Good point, sometimes a little humour is needed. Plus, it does the job and reminds people to be careful.
NOT SURE I am not sure really. London to Bangalore is a direct flight. Then going back you will, probably have to get Bangalore to Delhi and from there another flight to Punjab.

hi i travel to punjab almost every 2 years, but i really want to visit this temple, so would it be better if i travel from punjab to Bangalore? or from United Kingdom to Bangalore?
Shiva Murti Very beautiful appearance. Calm and little smile face has been turned the mind into holy and peaceful life. I think Shiva is the only God who is satisfy by simply worship.

Shiva the buisness God ! Sad really.
But then someone built such a magnificent Shiva and Ganesha. Sure they need to be paid. No money and nothing happens.
Either way, hope after few years or so it should become free for everyone to see such a wonderful place. May be the government could pay fixed amount to the owners so that it is free for the people.
Just a thought.

Kempfort Shiva Temple Hello Readers,
As a Banglorean,, I would like to share this information about the commercial mind of the people who ever is looking after this temple in Bangalore,, Hope till date no one would have come across paying money to visit a Temple in India,, but if you want to visit this shiva temple in Bengaluru,,, The entrence and exit is full of shops,, And more over,, The entrance is having an Footwear shop.. I dont think anyone visiting the temple will buy footwears first and then take them inside the temple. and as soon as you enter the temple, you see a big statue of Lord Ganesha, and just behind that there will be two ladies sitting and selling the Entry tickets which is 30Rs for one person,, and This is just to Enter inside,, (AND there is no EXIT if you don,t want to PAY) and after a calm argument with the ladies sitting there,, I and my wife were allowed inside without paying,,, and again after the exit there were 2persons sitting who were collecting 10Rs again for the visit of 12 Jyothirlingas,,, which are behind the Big Shiva Statue,,, Till date i havn,t seen any temple in India collecting Entry Fees...
Its awesome Really no words are suppose to enough to express this great experience.. Here we can see Lord shiva who came directly from kailasam and sat here.. for giving blesses to all devotees.. Thank you..
i need a cow bell to gift my girl hi!! i'am from india. i need to buy a cow bell. can anyone guide me where do i get in india or how i can import it. its real urgent. pls help.
shopping mall spoilt the divinity I went to the Kemp Fort in the month of June 2010..happened to see the gigantic idol or statue whatever u call of Lord Shiva..but I personally felt that shopping mall in front of the temple spoilt the divinity..if the shopping mall is removed and such a very good Shiva Temple is adequately given publicity, it will be seen by lakhs of Hindu devotees! I personally believe so!
amazing holiday Exciting holiday , wonderful site! Thoroughly enjoyed browsing through your site. It certainly gave me an insight on how Tanzania and its wildlife look like .would love to travel there one day.
