FUN TIMES It looks like you had such a great time except when you crashed the ATV. Hope you are loving almost every minute of your time there. And we don't have any elephants in Boston so I have no really fun stories for you. Cute picture of you feeding the elephants. Be safe and have fun! Love, Jona
Dolly! Dolly! i'm so jealous you're having an adventure with out me :-( be careful out there and yes zip up your bag bc i dont think scotty would appreciate any snakes from Thailand in the house! Don't have any doll and doll adventures without me! Love you be safe!!!
Love Always,
Dolly!
so rope and a mosquito net and you were able to sleep? Did you tie the rope yourself or did you make somebody do it for you. You know if I were there with you I would have had to do it for you! I hope all is well. I added you to my blog as well so others can keep track of you. Keep having fun... keep an open mind... its an adventure you will never forget (good or bad) Love JONA
you're off to a great start! I have to tell you I am spending a good part of the day just trying to keep up with all the blogs. I thought juggling Eric, Mike and Kristin was hard, now you..hehehe!
Anyhoo, it sounds like you are adjusting well to your travels. You seem to have the net thing down. I can't wait to hear all about your adventures. That first M-Thursday is going to be quite exciting.
Be safe and take care!
I was born before girls popped squats Ok now see it's a good thing I don't fly. I just tried to imagine how I would use that thing. It's difficult enough using rest stops on the I95 corrider. No thank you.
sleep at last I am glad to hear your off to such a positive start. Reminder - keep that guard up - against critters and vehicles in pedestrian zones (we'll just keep adding to the list as time goes on). I am wondering if the elephants will be stinky. Oh, and I want to know what the fruit that looks like eggs with a skirt tastes like (KHs blog). Hold on tight. -A
Jona I'm safe and really enjoying my experience thus far. I am still adjusting but I'm keeping an open mind so that is helping. I just got to Chiang Mai and there seems to be many really cool things to do. Mosquitos are now attacking. Good thing for my net; it is coming in use! Tell Greg I said hello!
Glad You Are Safe I am glad you are safe and enjoying your experience... watch out for the motorcycles though I don't want a squashed sister. And when did you get an Ipod touch? Love you, JONA
Hi Christina-
We're all glad you arrived safe and sound and that you're now ready for your next adventure. Caroline wants to make sure that I tell you to take a lot of pictures with the elephants. Safe travels!
Mommy being Mommy I know you are an adult and you may have figured this out but just in case: A- When not in use keep your toothbrush as well as all your things packed away. In plastic if possible. Zip up your bag so you don't give anything an unwanted ride home. B- You need to get some sleep. C- Continue to jump out of the way of motor vehicles of all types. D-Stay safe and have fun. E-Stop rolling your eyes at me. Love Maka
It's true, it's true I guess the secret is out. I have never slept on a sand dune in Timbukto, never slept on a boat deck, never slept on the roof of a Dogon hut, never had to take a bucket shower, never had to use a squat toilet, never rode an elephant, climbed a volcano, or swam with sharks. The truth is that every summer I just go to fancy shmancy hotels that have more toilitries in the bathroom than a salon and more marble than the vatican! darn you for ruining it all!
Hi Ms. Howard! Glad to hear you arrived safely although the thought of that long flight makes me ill! Abby and family will be excited to read about your travels, especially if you see any cows! Thanks for sharing your trip with us! Have fun and God speed!
As you know I will pass on the Cathay Pacific but am glad to hear you enjoyed your flight. It's really cool about the sunlight all the time. Have lots of fun. Looking forward to all this blog stuff.
MAMA Ma y Pa, I arrived safe and sound. I didn't sleep at all. So I guess I have been up for over 26 hours. Plane was awesome! Miss you! Love you! - PETU
Yeee F-ing Haw!!! Let the fun begin. I just became overwhelmed with excitement reading this. Nevermind butterflies, you must have mothra in your stomach now!! It will be crzy. It will be wierd. There will be bugs (largest coachroarch I ever saw 2 weeks ago, about 7 inches. man the explosion when I hit him!) It will be hard. It will be scary. But above all else, it will be "the time of your life"! You rock for taking the chance to see how the other other half lives! (by which I mean the half which is not the wanting and poor Americans, but the truely needy)!
You'll see me before you read this!! That is a stupid comment cuz i will have told you all that already , in Bangkok!
caught off guard! I got a good laugh with that, oh boy...I can't wait to hear whatever else 'catches you off guard'! I hope your flight was uneventful. Keep your guard up (sorry still laughing).
You are mentally prepared for the swarm of mosquitos, but how about palm sized cicadas that can pick you up and drop you else where? Just kidding!! I'm sure your flight was wonderful with all the technology they packed into that tiny gadget. Have a wonderful time visiting the elephants which I am sure are not as "man eating" as woodland deer or minows. Hope you enjoy the the Simmons Beautyrest Ultra Comfort mattress that the Thai hotels ordered in advance of your arrival. We love you and miss you already. Stay safe. Take of pictures of everything since that as close as I will get to Thailand.
Good Luck & Have Fun! Hey Howster! I hope you have the time of your life! When do you wear the bug net, at night or do you walk around with it all day?! lol
I cant believe you can only bring a back pack, that alone would kill me! I hope you have an awesome time and i cant wait to hear all of your crazy stories when you come home! I look forward to following your journey!! I miss and love you! xoxoxo
SHOW THOSE BUGS WHO'S BOSS!! :)
Mousse? Christina, you could always do what I did when I got sick of having hair that was part blond, part purple, and part red . . . I cut it off. And I mean OFF, a la Michael Coates. It takes a healthy ego and strong eyebrows! You totally rock -- I am so excited to hear about your adventures!
-- Naomi (and Sean!)
More important than mousse... How many pair of shoes are you going to bring???!!! I usually bring at least 4 - of course I don't have to carry them on my back! Oh yeah and don't forget your butt donut for the plane.
Look out Thailand the WeeOne is Comin! Hi How! I wish you the best of luck and be safe! I miss you sooooo much! I'm not sure if you are coming to NY before you leave but if you dont you better come visit when you get back! Have fun, take lots of pics, love and miss you!
I'll be following your journey! (p.s. cool idea to do this!)
