Hello everyone, I must appologise that I have been seriously slack in writing anything as of late. However, I have been writing lots in my travel journal (Thank you Fran) and buying lots of little souvenirs to bring back from my travels. I wanted to bring something back for everyone, alas, there is not enough room in my ever shrinking backpack and I find it very difficult to throw anything away! Anyway so since my last blog I have been to Australia which in a word was expensive!! Although Sophie and I intended on staying for 7 weeks we had to leave after 4 as we ran out of money and everything we wanted to do cost lots of money. We did visit the worlds largest sand island - Fraser Island and that was amazing, lots ... read more

Hello again everyone! After a 5 and a half hour bus journey, we arrived in Kuala Lumpur from Penang. It was 6pm and walking around confused for an hour meant we didnt check into the Arenaa Mountbatten hostel on Jalan Yap Ah Loy (Jalan means street) until just after 7pm! That evening we went to Jalan Petaling - the big street market and had some cheap yummy dinner and then went to see the Petronas Towers all lit up which was fanastic and got some great pics! The first day in KL, Sophie and I got up very early and jumped on a bus to Sunway Lagoon water park where we went on rides, saw lots of animals and went swimming in the huge pools and wave pools. On the second day we went to the ... read more

Hello all! Firstly, I hope you had a lovely Christmas and are all looking forward to New Years! It is very annoying because I had already written about 600 words of this blog about half an hur ago but the stupid computer I was on froze and I lost it all :( Not happy but I told the guy who owns the place that I wasn't paying for the last hour of internet time!! Anyway, drama over: Hope everyone is well! Sophie and I are currently in Koh Phanguan staying in a place called Haad Rin. Koh Phanguan is the official biggest beach party on the whole planet, hosting 30'000 people + for a party that lasts all day all night for a week! The island is so busy that people are having to sleep on ... read more

Hello hello everyone, sending you my best wishes from the sunny island of Koh Phi Phi, Thailand! The island itself is covered in mountains, rainforest and beautiful beaches and only very small parts of it are actually inhabited by people and tourists. Many resorts are so closed off, the only way to reach them is by long boat taxis. There are no roads on Koh Phi Phi so if you want to go anywhere you have to walk, cycle, swim or get a long boat which is really refreshing compared with the busy polluted city of Bangkok! Since we have been here we have mostly lazed about on the beach, making sure to keep topped up on the sun tan lotion and have unfortunately been bitten around 40 times!! My legs look like an albino dalmation ... read more

Hi All, writing from Bangkok! Its our third evening here now and we are having a great time! Last night we went out in a very backpacker full area and met some english and american people! Was a really fun night but spent most of today recovering from it!! It is very hot here getting up to the late 30s and early 30s even at night!! Yesterday we trekked across bangkok to get to the Thai Immigtration building so that we could extend our visas, and even though we had a long wait and a 2000baht fee we managed to get them extended until the 5th of Jan which is perfect! We even managed to get back on the thai public transport and it cost us 4 baht each which is about 80p for a half ... read more

I decided that before I jet set round the world, I ought to start a travel journal. This way people close to me will be able to see what I am doing and not worry so much (Mum). I haven't quite worked out how to use my travel blog quite yet but practice makes perfect and I'm sure it wont be long till I can write a blog entry and upload photos in minutes! The countdown has begun, only (and exactly) 23 days till my plane takes off from Heathrow. It is ten past ten in the evening here and that is the time my flight takes me off to Bangkok! Hopefully by then the flooding would have eased off as I wasn't planning on taking wellies with me.... Getting nervous now, have no idea how ... read more
