Merritt has been really nice! We have been spending a lot of time by the river. We swam in it...and it was pretty cold! We also had a little bonfire by the river too! They have black bears here that come down by the river and other parts of town. But we haven't seen one yet! Friday we make the long drive to Idaho! =D... read more

Ok... Just for the record Merritt Canada looks NOTHING like Las Vegas! Merritt is first of all green and its surrounded by mountains that have trees on them! Plus Merritt has a river. It was funny that almost everyone would say that your trading one desert for another, when we would tell them were going to Merritt. They would also say that it was a desert and really hot..kinda like Vegas. Which is not true Merritt is much more appealing to the eye then Vegas. We arrived yesterday in Merritt and it has been so nice so far! The town is really small but quite big in some ways. We hikes two easy trails today and it was so much fun! The second hike was very muddy in the beginning. All of our shoes and socks ... read more

After 12 days of sitting and being driven around I was started to go haywire...I was starting to behave like lorraine from mad tv. (reference youtube) So if I didn't have enough of three coffee's I decided I needed a fourth. So we went to Pikes place...the original Starbucks...the first day of creation! How exciting. We got in line to order coffee. We were looking at their Pike place specific merchandise. To our great dismay(Emeris) the pikes place mug had a sticky note indicating that it was sold out! NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!! They were completely out! I bought a iced coffee cup to sooth my emotions and a breve cafe misto. While we were waiting for our drinks...I was eaves dropping on a conversation between a lady and the cashier..."I need to return this mug" "I'll see what ... read more

Portland came and went! It's beautiful and green! We seem to be taking the sun every place we go. But not in Portland! It was nice to see overcast! The people are really nice and super laid back! There are all types of people in Portland. For example when we were driving through Astoria we saw a young girl with bright purple hair on her bright green bike....then walking behind her was an older lady with long hair weird looking parachute pants and baggy shirt "earthy grandma" haha.... We spent some time with good friends. The congregation there was very refreshing and warm. We did little sight seeing...but mostly relaxed and sipped on our coffee! =)... read more

The bluest and deepest lake! We stopped to see Crater Lake on our way to Portland. It was worth it! We weren't able to do any hiking, but we just drove around the whole lake which takes a little over an hour. So beautiful! ... read more

So here we are...a week already gone! We are now in Portland OR! Here are some highlights of the past couple days. San Francisco was of course amazing! There was so much to do in so little time. But we had a good time doing some sight seeing and going out in service. We had a great tour guide that took us to some of the best parts of SF. We ate some of the best food! =D Then we camped over at Patrick's Point...about 20 minutes away from Redwoods National Park. Such a great place to camp...except for the crazy birds that make noise early in the morning and peck at your things looking for food. We hiked at the Redwood National Park and it was so beautiful! We were just in awe throughout the ... read more

We made it! We are here at Santa Maria! We left yesterday around 11 and got to Santa Maria at 9:30. We made the much needed stop at IKEA. Then I convinced Michelle and Jonathan to go to this really good Cuban deli/bakery called PORTOS! =) We were on the freeway going through Burbank. It was about 5:15 when I called to see what their hours were...and they close at 5:30! So we rushed off the freeway and Portos was just down the street. We got their at 5:20! Woohoo....the rush was so worth it. Michelle and I had Cuban sandwiches and Jonathan had a ropa vieja sandwich...with plantain chips. Yum! We need one in VEGAS! Tuesday we leave for San Francisco. =)... read more
