LAOS : Luang Prabang / Van Vieng / Vientaine / Thakhek / Don Det

4 weeks are enough to visit the country but we could easily have stayed more ! People are very nice and charming, helpful and accommodating. Van Vieng had closed the bars by the river due to a lack of management and death increase in August 2012. It will reopen in 2013 with certainly more control hopefully. But after talking to people who did it when the booze was around, it is definitively not something I will recommend as people forgot their sense of responsibility and get completely hammered with no control of themselves under alcohol and drugs. The highlights have been Luang Prabang, Van Vieng and Don Det.
