RIP
Yep, that was a lovely written and visual tribute and memorial for her.....man, isn't letting go the hardest thing to do.... I guess that's what funerals are for....a point in which to reference and refer to our grief.....these machines which carry us to our dreams.... keep dreaming my dear friends....love you all!

Vital statistics
Hi - Sorry to hear about the accident. While not a Westfalia we had our own conversion van that we loved dearly for many years - it was a 1975 Ford van that Dave's Uncle Andy turned into a camper. A company installed a pop top but the rest was 100% designed and built by Uncle Andy. The van was used to go south to Florida, west to Las Vegas and all over Michigan. We had some good times on those trips and were sorry when we had to send it off to another home so we understand. Cousin Susan

Farewell
Melisse, You and Dave have obliviously had some great memories courteous of Ruby Grace. Every time I speak with you or Dave and hear your stories of travel I am instantly jealous. I am sorry we couldn’t help put Ruby Grace back together, but she lives on through your sharing. Thanks so much for sharing your story. Even though I never met her, I somehow feel connected to Ruby Grace. Matt Stark

That was very well said, Melisse. She really provided a wonderful sense of home and security, didn't she? I'm sure she was glad to be on an adventure, too. Hope all is well with you guys! Woof!

thanks
Melisse, these are some of my favorite things to look at....additive complex, perfect forms.....over the summer there was an exhibition at the gardens of these very kinds of formations and they were stunning....just like yours...no less stunning... Hey, are you familiar w/ a geological event that happened around Missoula in the mid 1800's I think, where a torrent of water cut through the hills and carved out incredible forms?....I think there was a nova about it?...that is more subtractive.....nature/science and art.....beautiful!!!! Love

It's everywhere
There is exquisite beauty in the mundane. Perhaps you might have to make a bit more effort to remember to notice it. But yes, it is so "in your face" here. The photos I've put on the blog are only the "tip of the iceberg" so to speak. Perhaps I'm on a roll now and will keep them coming. It's motivating to receive feedback from folks, so thanks for connecting!

Marvelous.
Truly beautiful, crystal water. What a gorgeous reminder, that water is everywhere, adapting to and shaping every occasion. Must be a big hunk of hard cold up there, which we've only just had for a little over a day in St. Louis. Jane says she sees jewelry in every photo. (Maybe a challenge to cast in silver?)

Memories of Michigan Winters
Hi! I haven't thought about hoar frost (nor did I know what it was called) in years and years! Memories of winters as a child in Michigan flooded back as I recall the snow and ice on the ground looking feathery and almost magical draped with a layer of crunchy sugary goodness! It also reminds me of how cold my feet would get after playing outside and how glad I am for wool socks. =0) LOVE the pictures, Melisse....so beautiful! St. Louis is quite beautiful under several inches of snow right now, and we have had two snow days in a row - whoo hoo!! HUGE HUG to all three of you.....

Keep the blogs coming. It was so great to hear you are both doing well and loving it in Alaska. I have retired and enjoying it tremendously although I do miss all my friends at school I am exploring these beautiful United States since while working I could only take a week off at a time. I do so enjoy reading your escapades and I am a little envious. Take care and have a wonderful holiday season. Fondly, Barb
