Nice pics. You take some really good pictures. There are some good ones at blackhillstravelblog.com - please check it out if you're interested in some of the things going on in the Black Hills.
For Caroline Our preference would be to spend one day in the southern half of the park and the other two days in the northern. While the southern area is great, it just can't be the wildlife and nature hikes availble in the northern area. I would spend the least amount of time in the lodge areas and get out on the trails! Be sure to hit Lamar Valley (on the way to the northeast entrance) one morning or evening. Enjoy!!
thank you! we're off to yellowstone in a week or so -- thanks for your insight --- will look forward to the rest of your "hot tips" -- if you had 3 days -- where would you spend the least amount of time?? thanks again!!!
Thanks CJ for your comments.
How about a Whopper, Big Mac, Sonic Double Burger......
I am glad to hear that you appreciate your mom's cooking!!!
Enjoy the memories of this great adventure and the rest of your summer.
PS..I know some great trails for hiking, ready???

Not fun to have bodily system errors when traveling...
Also sleeping a room smoke stenched room is really difficult.. I have tried even using a bottle of Freebreeze, very briefly I thought the smell was gone, but then it returned!!!!!
Thank you so much for including me in the journey, I am sure we will talk more about the adventures..
I understand "Home sweet Home"
Grizzly I have not ever seen a Grizzly, what an experience and while eating!!!

Continue enjoying and take it that Great Mountain air!!!!
See ya soon.
Prayers continue

God's free gifts.... It is so amazing to receive.... EVERYDAY.....the gift of nature.
I so appreciate the powerfulness of the Mountains. It is exciting to hear how much you are enjoying this trip... I feel like I am experiencing it through you... Fantastic pictures of all your sights. Glad to hear that today has been a better day than the last blog. I will keep praying and enjoy Yellowstone, I remember Old Faithful Geyser. It's another incredible free gift to enjoy from God...
Many Blessing.
no shoes!!!! I can't believe that you are wearing flip flops Jacob. Are you trying to be like Calob?
I love the pictures Jackie!! YOU are doing an awesome job with the blog. Thanks for doing it!
boys talk a lot The girls and I went to sheep and wool day at the park on sunday. It was great. There was a thirteen year old boy who kept striking up conversation with me. He certainly held his own and it reminded me so much of CJ. He knew right where to get me too. He commented on Gabs star tattoo on her shoulder (we got bored this weekend) and then said she was soo cute. Anyways our adventures aren't quite as exciting as yours but they'll do. Just reading your blogs gets me tired...I don't know how you're doing it.
Halleluia I always knew far back in the dark crevices you would do anything for a fix of morphine!!!! Well at least you did not hurt anything too bad it sounds like. Sharon fells your pain as she broke the tip of her tailbone when she was young and all her folks would say was quit crying or we will give you something to cry about. She came from such a sympathetic family. Well we figured Steve would say " I know what to do, I'll call Tad Moreland............ well maybe we all watch a tad to much TV. Hope you have a great rest of your trip and much less pain in your travels. We pray for your safe and healthy return.
Trail-Blazing What a day!!
What a tremendous amount of pain you must of been in or even still are in, especially moving around in AM??
I will pray specifically for your situation.
All the photos look incredible, such fun for you guys to share in these experiences.
What a thrill to experience those Falls, the trails, the animals and all God's gifts of Nature.
My heart was pounding when reading about your injury and I thank God for you being ok???
Lots of love and Blessings.
Laughter at another person's expense is the best kind I know you are hurt and for that, I am truly sorry. It is a blessing that you were hurt very badly. I mean come on, you are old and we know what happens to bones in women over 50.
So, that being said, "As I had our cabin key in that pocket I was afraid I had punctured my right cheek - the lower one!", when I read that sentence I started to laugh. The laughing then continued until the very end of story. My ribs hurt. I was not actually laughing at you, but I was.
Like I said. I am glad you are alright and there were no serious injuries involved. Keep your head down and your powder dry.
Bad humor for the Bad lands Your a-maize-ing joke ruined the whole entry for me. Next time, please place poor humor at the end!
Glad you and your family are having a wonderful time. Be safe with your journey.
Wall Drug The horses look amazingly peaceful. I vote that our Housing Association allow horses, no mowing then and they may chase awayall those cats!!!
I was glad to hear that an unnamed boy was practicing fire safety by putting out the fire at bedtime!!
I look forward to seeing the souvenirs, did you get yourself another visor?
You know my thoughts about a restroom where you are unable to practice appropriate hygiene behaviors, so I would of selected another diner also!!
Look forward to seeing you guys soon.
Continue having a great adventure and building memories. I am praying for a continued fun and safe journey.
Blessings.
Miss you It looks like you all are having a great time. Jacob I miss you but I'm glad you are having a great time. Enjoy it and be thankful!!! I love YOU! And be good!
Your co-worker and certain Heroic OP say hello. We hope you're having fun on vacation. You are going to loose at chess when you get back-oh and he's having neck surgery.
Interesting I find it very funny that in reading your text I can actually hear/see you being grossed out by the smells in the car. I guess I did not realize your trip crossed the globe. I thought you were just traveling inside the continetal US. Did you take you Canada flags to put on your packs once you leave our borders. Just say "ey" a lot and you will be fine. I hope you and your family and tag along are having a wonderful time. Be safe and Godspeed.

Who Cares About Corn! Who cares about corn??? It's the picture of the General Lee that I liked -- that in and of itself had to be worth the thousands of miles you are driving! Miss you guys.
Due to popular demand we will be blogging our entire trip through South Dakota, Wyoming, Montana, Colorado and Kansas. Okay, so maybe not popular demand... This blog really grew out of a desire to allow Jake's parents to be able to follow along with where Jake is and what he's doing. We will try to keep it updated as time and internet availability allow.... full info
