I am finally home and back in Rhode Island!! The trip was amazing, but I am exhausted. It's going to take a few days to feel "back to normal". Just wanted to take this time for thanks: - to the McNamee's for their hospitality - to Mark for the ride on the scooter and to the airport - to Brian for the hospitality - to the Georges' for their hospitality - to the midget for making me smile - to Jimmy Buffett for opening up a Margaritaville in Vegas! - to Joe for showing me the Grand Canyon - to Mullet, [View Full Entry]

After a VERY long day yesterday, I made it into Seattle yesterday at 4 PM. A shuttle service was supposed to pick me up at 7:20 in Hollywood. I called them at 7:30 and they said they had no record of me, but that they would pick me up at 8 AM. At 8:30 I had to freak out and get a cab. You must understand, I had a 10AM flight and it takes 40 minutes to get to LAX. I was none to happy. A very nice cab driver was more than willing to hustle to LAX ($70 dollars later!!) So we finally left San Diego this morning and it was --- CLOUDY! And the nice girl at the front desk told us look out, there is a chance of rain today. I was like 'you have got to be kidding me?' Well we got the rented car and started heading up to Anaheim. Over the ocean was a beautiful view of LIGHTING! By the time we got up to Anaheim it wasn't drizzling as much anymore. There weren't any places to hang out before the game near the stadium so we had to go to a little burger joint a [View Full Entry]

OK first maybe I was to harsh on San Diego while I wrote my daily blog entry last night. But honestly, cloudy weather in San Diego is not excusable. At any rate, this morning we cheked out of the beach hotel and headed for Old Town. The hotel we stayed in tonight was pretty amazing, its more of a gated community. It has 8 different buildings, all with a "missionary" south west cultured lay out, If that makes any sense. Anyway of course the weather today was absolutely perfect (it cleared up about 30 minutes after we left the beach). We [View Full Entry]

"Have a great night, and go F&*# yourself, San Diego!!" Seriously, this is so frustrating. I spend extra money to stay on the beach and I get about 2 hours of sun for 1 day over the 2 days we stayed there. When I was out here last year in May it was "May Grey, June Gloom". Now I come back in August and its cloudy too. Is this a joke? Yesterday we spent the day at various bars on Garnet Street where we hung out with some crazy college kids who clearly were way to excited to be back to [View Full Entry]

Checking in with everyone from the beach! The hotel, the Ocean Park Inn, is literally on Pacific Beach. We got in yesterday afternoon and I spent the day walking the beach. There are a lot of surfers, and I am considering trying it this afternoon. There is a pretty good strip of bars on a local street around here so thats where we went last night. Didn't stay out to late, I'm exhausted after now being gone for two weeks! Today it was cloudy in the morning so I caught up on some laundry but now it is sunny and I [View Full Entry]

On our last day in Vegas, I walked the entire strip to see all of the hotels. Since it was 106 degrees, I was pretty tired when I finally finished. I have some pictures of the outside of the hotel New York, New York. That was definitely one of the best hotels with the most to offer out of the others on the strip. Later on we went to a buffet for dinner at the Flamingo hotel. Mullet ate an unprecendented amount of food this time. We all sat for at least 20 minutes while he continued to shovel multiple plates [View Full Entry]

Yesterday Dave and I went on a bus tour of the Hoover Dam and the Grand Canyon. The day started out rough, we were to be picked up at 6:30 AM. After a late night at Margaritaville, I was tired. But the trip was great. We learned a lot of the Las Vegas area away from the strip, and then saw the Hoover Dam. The dam is about an hour away from Vegas and then we crossed the border into Arizona. It was a 4 hour drive to the grand canyon and we stopped a couple of times in these random [View Full Entry]

I landed in Vegas on Sunday afternoon. I was sitting alone on the plane and just kept saying "oh my god!" out loud. It's amazing how much you can see when you are landing. I got off the plane and immediately heard the sounds of slot machines... in the airport!! Dave and I got to the hotel and then met the rest of the group. Sunday night was spent just walking arond to some of the hotels taking it all in. Its definitely an "ooh" and "awe" experience when its your first time. We hung out in Caeser's Palace and Treasure [View Full Entry]

Yesterday Jeremy, Nicole, Austin and I went off to Gruene, TX, a small town founded in the 1840's. First we walked down to the river to see the flooding water. The street was blocked and there were people rafting. After checking out some good Texas iron decor, it was off to Gruene Hall, home of Texas' Oldest Dace Hall. Gruene Hall Website. There is a huge dance floor and live bands playing country music on a daily basis. There was a big open dance floor and a large field outside with tables. The place was fun! I definitely would go back [View Full Entry]
