Hello, hello one and all. Hope you are all doing well. We have now arrived in Bangkok after an arduous 11/12 hour trip. But what did we do before we got here?? Well i should tell you shall i, else i'm just going to be rambling on and not really taking this post anywhere except to lead you all to extreme boredom and wanting to know if i will just get to the ruddy point! That sentence could probably do with more punctuation but i'm feeling decidedly lazy today :) So, the last few days in Australia were spent whale watching and going to Australia Zoo (Steve Irwins zoo). The Whale watching was amazing. In Hervey bay is apparently one of the few places they stop in their yearly migrations south to the feeding grounds. I'm ... read more

Ok, so the title of the post is a little misleading, it's actually day 8 now. But in doing this i am trying my best to keep those of you who want to know.. in the know. So, we picked up our little campavan (nick named Julie) on the 8th September. 2 Days after leaving Mt Baw Baw - the unsnowiest of all snowy ski resorts. From there we spent a few days with Vic + Hernan whom we met in Sydney and have finally settled down in a suburb of Melbroune not 20mins walk from the centre. It's a nice little flat, and we wish them the best of luck there for the foreseeable future (or until vics second year visa runs out / she gets booted out the country, whichever comes first). So, the ... read more

So almost up to date now, just to fill you guys in on the last few months of work that we have been doing. After a brief stint in Melbourne we came up to Mt Baw Baw to work in the Australian ski season (who knew they had one?). We came across this job opportunity be a chance talking to some of the guys we knew in Sydney who worked here last year. The work is easy enough, it’s just fitting people out with ski’s and snowboards and pretending you know what you’re doing. Which I quite obviously don’t as every time I go out I wake up the following morning with pains in places I didn’t think existed, probably should stop bouncing on my head (neck is still stiff from that) and arse so much. ... read more

After a long few months without any contact or posts I decided it’s about time that I started posting things more often as we are finally starting to get moving on our travels once more. So, what have we been doing since our last post? Well during our last few days in Sydney it was all go! For our last few weeks we moved out of 773 South Dowling Street into 499 South Dowling Street!! An amazing far move I know, and trust me carrying everything you own on our backs it certainly felt like a long move. In the last few days at Sydney I said goodbye to Strictly Aquariums and Kate said goodbye to her job at Cossies (Cafe)¬. Katie and David disappeared down the coast for a week staying at our new landlords ... read more

Hello peeps Oooooook, well alot of people having been going on about how i haven't posted one of these blogs in a long time. Some of you have put it down to being back in a '1st world country' but the simple reason is i've been to tired to really put my mind to it because of work and such things. (also i refuse to pay the internet cafe prices out here hehe). Well.. where do i start, it's been the better part of 4 months since i last put a post up here. If memory serves i was talking about our last few days in Malaysia. Well after there we flew down to melbounre, in the process katie managed to consume the last of her 'tranquilisers' (which has her worried for our next flight she ... read more

Penang - Georgetown. A pretty little town with a very heavy chinese feel to it. Whilst here we ended up staying at Love Lane Inn the owner of which was called jimmy, and looked remarkably like a malay jimmy saville! We only spent a few days in Georgetown but whilst there we went to Visit the Kek Lok Si Temple, apparently the largest temple complex in south east malaysia. Alas some of it was under reconstruction at the time we visited but not so much that it caused any disruption. The temple itself was full of really vivid colours and the view from the top of the main Pagoda was really nice to see. Apart from this it was just our usual tour of the city that we always do on foot, although this one involved ... read more

From Sabah to Sarawak

"Not more flying".. i'm sure the majority of you can hear Katie saying that as we are trying to decide how to get to Sarawak from Sabah. We had 3 options, Boat, Bus or Plane. My Argument: The boat + bus take near 8 - 10 hours from where we were situated (Back in Kota Kinabalu). A plane took 30 minutes.. 2:30 at worst with check ins. ( I will admit at this point i was a little cranky.. we had just spend 10 hours on a bus..) Katie's argument: She doesn't like flying. So we flew to miri, a few valium's later for katie and me feeling better not having to catch a big long bus.. We kinda did a fly drive tour of Sarawak not having much time to pass through. We spent 2 ... read more

Right ok, so it's been a while (or it feels like it) since i last made one of these posts. In all truth i don't know if it will make alot of sense and maybe a little bit all over the place but here goes! I am currently sat in Semporna, a small little fishing + Scuba village on the east coast of Sabah (Boreo). Katie has gone out to do some snorkeling and i have some time to kill before i start my PADI Open Water Course. As far as i recall (I haven't checked) the last post i made was leaving India, well since then we have been to Singapore for a few days. I have to say i really liked Singapore, first impressions as they say are important and Singapore defiantly delivered well. ... read more

I haven't updated this in a while but this will be the last post that i do before we head out to Malaysia. First things first (as Katie just pointed out). I should probably apologise for my typing so far.. alot of it is written in a hurry as i resent having to pay for the internet out here (i'm sure they charge us more) so things get typed as fast as i can manage it and as it comes out of my head. Anyway... We hit Goa... and we hit the monsoon. There really isn't a whole lot to say on the matter.. it is abit of a shame as it's meant to be one of those tropical paradises with cool blue sea's and sunshine all day long. Not the case i'm afraid, it rained ... read more

Well, we finally made it to a place where we..well I can post. Katie keeps threatening to do one of these but somehow never gets around to it. We are finally on our own, offically. All the people that we met on the Himalayan trek have gone their seperate ways. We met backi up wioth Lykke and Regitse in Agra and did a few things with them. I must say, that personally, i am getting abit tired of indian cities. The country itself, the "flora + fauna" are amazing and really pretty. But the cities (apart from mumbai, which i'll get to later) just aren't looked after at all. The streets are lined with garbage and dirt. The most noticeable of whichis the red fort.. it was really really reaaaaaaaaaaallly hot, we had even waited till ... read more
