WE did two days’ trip to watch Yunnan Golden Monkey from Lijiang city to combine visiting Liming which is part of Laojun Mountain National Park. I heard a lot about the Yunnan Golden Monkey from people who work in national park or nature reserve area, but I haven’t chance to see in person in mountains. So I was looking forward this trip to Baimang Snow Mountain Nature Reserve Area. I contacted with the person who work in Nature Reserve Area to ask when is the best time to see the Yunnan Golden Monkey, they told us it’s better to watch them in the morning. This morning when I walking outside that I find the sky is so clearly, just a little bit white clouds. I am very surpriseed about this, because tt was cloudy and rainy last night. We drive 7 hours to Deqin county of Diqing Prefecture. I find everybody are so excited to do this trip. About 4 hours' drive, we always allow the Jiangsha river and pass by more than hundred villages, they are Naxi, Tibetan and Han…….it is in winter time now,most places looks very dry, farmers just finished harvesting and busy to plant wheat and rapeseeds... Local farmers are pluming and sowing seeds with cows in fields. This morning I picked the tourists up from the Zen garden Hotel then we were driving 30 munities from city to Baisha village where the hiking place. Today is a cloudy day, but I thought it was very nice, because it was suit for hiking in the mountain. I just took two tourists in this tour, they were come from England and they were Young, so I thought may be this is honey moon about them. We needed hiking 4 hours to Wenhai area today, and we were living in the ecology. On way to the Wenhai, we can see the village and city very clearly, it was very flat. Lashi Lake is in the basin in Hengduan Mountain Range, 10 kilometers away from the Old Town of Lijiang. The grassy marshland on the bank often gathers lots of water. It is the best place for plants, fishes, shellfish and river snails. The grassy marshland and swamp provide a nice home for wetland animals and plants. In early winter, lots of wild birds will come here from cold northern places. They rest in the grass and look for food in streams. Each year from October to April, 57 species of migratory birds stop in Lashi Lake, which hosts the highest number of water bird species of any lake in northwest Yunnan.
