Hello Friends and Family and strangers.
We have been back in the states now for about a year and a half which = BORING! :) Sorry friends, but there is so much to see in this world I hate sitting back missing it all. Good news though I have a little vacation coming up while my husband is on orders in England. So I will have another blog from England and hopefully Scotland. It will be great!
remember... be the change you wish to see in the world.....
This is the first of our blogs in Ireland...I think Ill do separate blogs since lots to say, history, and loads of pics. On a side note...im writing this while waiting for my space a flight back to the US. 2nd day and counting and hoping to get the last flight of tonight. So to begin our blog...Ireland was one of our musts while we were here in europe. We hoped to make it there for st. pattys day but with my new job at that time it wasnt possible. So 6/29 our last day in europe we found some really cheap flights through ryan air. A great deal! The downside was we had to take the Deutsche Bahn to memmingen then a bus from the train stop to the airport. Not too bad although the

More rooms to see then the other castles we have previously visited. It was another chilly day. The first castle was pretty easy to get to but the other one involved lots of stairs and uphill paths. You can take a bus up for an additional fee but we like to save money, see more, and get a little exercise! The first castle- this guy was a hunter. I have never in my life seen so many antlers on a wall. All sizes- had to be several hundred. Some were more then a hundred or more years old. The second castle was

Once we crossed the bridge we were met with unfamiliar signs and language. This is a beautiful area. I loved all the old winding narrow streets. We walked near the water. Unfortunately due to the crazy amount of rain and snow melting the river was too high so we couldnt take the boat tour. She told Nick as friendly as the French do. With luck we stumbled upon a fleamarket I was hoping to find, but everything was too expensive for my wallet. The best part of our afternoon was pizza, pasta, and beer at an outdoor cafe. It was great! There are some really great photos of the Strasbourg

We had so many diffderent things plan and made a few changes once we found there were tickets available for the annual Heidelberg Vampire Ball. It always held during the week of Fasching. First things first was to figure out whatto wear. Not too difficult but as much as we would have like to have gone all out with fancy ball costumes we didnt want to empty our wallets to do so. Nick got a really nice red dress shirt at C&A and I found a fancy black hat with feathers (they have such inexpensive nice clothes..reminds me of a Kohls and Old navy) and I bought a cute black dress at the BX. Then after researching as best I could I found a Gothic store

I on the other hand have never been skiing and was slightly scared to try it. We went through the Outdoor Rec on base to rent ski's, boots, and poles. The rest of the gear we ordered online a few weeks earlier. Our journey began early friday morning. Unfortunately we didnt take into account the snow that fell overnight so it was after 6am by the time we left the Kulinarium. The roads weren't too bad but still slowed us down a little bit. We were heading to small ski resort area known as Feldberg. It took us far too long to get up the mountain due to the winding roads, slow traffic, and

Thanks to Germanwings (www.germanwings.com) and their blind bookings. We got an amazing deal to fly to London. Only 30 Euro roundtrip for each of us. NOT TOO BAD. On the downside we flew into Stanstead Airport which then mean we had to get tickets to take the train from Stansted to get into downtown London where most of the main action is. We stayed at The Holiday Inn in North Greenwich. Located right near the O2-in Southeast London. We got a good deal with that at about 65$ US dollars a night..Cheapest we could find in the city. I really wanted to

Some history (thanks to wikipedia): The castle is a 19th-century Romanesque Revival palace on a rugged hill above the village of Hohenschwangau near Füssen in southwest Bavaria, Germany. The palace was commissioned by Ludwig II of Bavaria. The palace was intended as a personal refuge for the reclusive king, but it was opened to the paying public immediately after his death in 1886. The palace has appeared prominently in several movies and was the inspiration for Disneyland's Sleeping Beauty Castle. We woke up VERY early to catch a taxi from our apt to PanzerKasserne. We didnt have our car yet and that was the most expensive cab ride in

We just have to up the workouts so we dont gain too much weight while were here. I'll be updating this page frequently as I like to take pics of fabulous meals...... The first photos are from a greek restaurant just a few train stops away on Plieninger Strasse on the U3. Walk toward the shops and you will see the blue and white sign on the left on the corner of the street. They also have a small hotel there. We had some beers and each got a nice salat. Then we shared a meat platter. It was HUGE and delish. We also got free Ouzo from the owner and

It rises up from the summit of Hoher Bopser in Degerloch in south Stuttgart. It is the first concrete and steel TV tower in the world. It stretches 217 Meters high. The top portion has a broadcasting studio and cafe. Luckily there is an elevator to make the trip up that much easier. Once outside we almost blew away and froze to death at the same time. Still definitely worth the 5 Euro cost to get up there. The view was stunning and I look forward to visiting again in the summer. Unfortunately the cafe was beyond packed since everyone had

I will post pics and try to put the story with the pics...... To start...one of my favorite views and places to walk is the Schlossplatz. It's size is remarkable and even in winter is beautiful. Almost all the pictures I have seen of the square in the spring/summer time. Green grass, flowers, people sitting at tables. Now in these winter photos of mine it won't be quite as green but still a site to see. Now in the centre is a tall slender Jubilee Column that was donated by the Estates in 1841. Their are also two identical cup fountains on each side of the column with
