Hello there. So since the last blog we got the sleeper train to the Laos border from Bangkok. It was pretty good for a sleeper train. As I've said loads before after India all the sleeper trains are great, we even got a matress, pillow, cover and even a curtain for privacy, awesome! The train staff kept telling us to NEVER let go of our valuables as there were alot of thefts so I slept with my small bag in my arms and Jay and I padlocked our bags up together, so no problem there. The train also had guys going [View Full Entry]

Hello there. So I think toward the end of my last blog I mentioned that we were going to cross a different border to Thailand than most people and that 'it should be interesting'. Well it was interesting but also freakin' terrible. The day of the trip we we crossing the border we booked a 'share taxi' to take us to the border. We though a shar taxi would be a taxi that you share with two different people to share the cost, sounds great. Oh my god we were wrong! When the taxi arrived we had to squeeze in and [View Full Entry]

Hello there. SO since last time I blogged we got on the long bus journey to Siem Reap. First we stopped at Phnom Penh to change buses and then on to Siem Reap. It had been really wt that day and the bus driver though it would be a great idea to stop the bus in the middle of a massive puddle so everyone got wet and it was almost impossible to find your luggage in the dark...good start eh? Finally we got our bags and got in a tuk tuk to a guest house nearby. Our tuk tuk driver exlpained [View Full Entry]

Hello there. So since I last blogged we got the bus from Saigon to Phnom Penh in Cambodia. We had heard alot of stories about some of these borders being really corrupt and dangerous but it went really smoothly and we got our Cambodian Visa relatively quickly on the border. So when we got to Phnom Penh, as soon as we stepped off the bus we were absolutely hounded my tuk tuk drivers wanting us to go to their hotel but after we got away from that mob we found a pretty sweet place for $6. Phnom Penh was quite a [View Full Entry]

Hello there. So sonce last time I wrote on here we got a bus from Nha Trang to Mui Ne. The reason we were going to Mui Ne was for the amazing sand dunes that we heard about and also that fact that it had a lovely beach, which is always nice. SO we got off the bus and this moto guy said he wanted to take us to a cheap hotel so we got on but the hotel rather sucked to we decided to keep walking. The moto guiy wasn't so happy because this meant he wouldn't get any commision [View Full Entry]

Hello there! So since I last did a blog we got on a sleeper bus to Hue from Hanoi. But to call it a sleeper bus is false advertising really as it is impossile to get any freakin' sleep! As you can see in the pics I seem really happy, maybe evan excited in the pic of me on by bed on the bus...should of really took one at the end to compare! So anyway...we finally got to Hue and this guy said he'd taker us to his hotel so we went with it, didnt actually end up going to his [View Full Entry]

Hello there. So we got on the night train to Sapa and we expected the worst because we had booked in the 'hard sleeper' class and heard bad things. But we got in the carriage and it was great. I think after the Indian trains nothing could phase us. We got in and we had pillows and sheets (awesome) and then the next thing we know 4 more Vietnamese girls are in our carriage, so all in all a good journey. After 9 hours and quite a good sleep we arrived in Lao Cai which is on the Chinese border, and [View Full Entry]

Hello or should I say Xin Chào. Yes we've finally become a little less ignorant and learned some of the language! So since I've written a blog we have been on a short flight from Bangkok to Hanoi, Vietnam. We stayed in Hanoi for more than enough time really because as I said in the Kathmandu blog, my wallet was stolen so my parents were sending my bank card to the UK embassey in Hanoi for me to pick up. But to be fair as cities go Hanoi was a pretty cool place to be waiting around. Not least because the [View Full Entry]

Hello there. So since going rafting on way from Pokhara to Kathmandu, which was great by the way and I really want to do it again, we got on the four hour bus from the rafting site to Kathmandu and decided to ride on the roof of the bus! When our bus arrived in Kathmandu we got a taxi straight to the tourist area of Thamal. Pretty much everyone who goes to Kathmandu would be staying here so we thought it was a good choice. I think it was the first night there we decided to go out and party as [View Full Entry]
