I am Danish spotter currently based in Bolivia. I have been taking photos of planes since I was a kid and have been collecting registrations since 2001.

I am going to spend four years in Bolivia with my wife and decided to to post my aviation related experiences, logs, etc. here.

Had another look at La Paz - El Alto and thanks to Giovanni Rodriguez I managed to get a bit closer to some of the aircraft. First a couple of typing errors in my last blog, the two stored TAM Convairs are FAB-71 and FAB-72 (not as mentioned TAM-71 and TAM-72). The wfu ones are correct as TAM-70 and TAM-74. Also in my last blog I assumed the DC-4 in Fawcett colors was Fri Reyes CP-1653. Nothing could be more wrong, in fact it is the one that was used for spares. Faded registration OB-R-463 can still be read, further it has a 463 on tail and Fawcett titles. The silver DC-6 mentioned is CP-1651, registration is very faded but still visible. That leaves only one unidentified DC-4/6, and judged from the colors I would still ... read more

Finally I managed another extended weekend of aviation fun, all because of the 50 years Bolivian Air Force anniversary. In stead of just going directly to Santa Cruz for the airshow I decided to make a stop in Cochabamba on the way, mainly to get a flight on the CL-66B Cosmopolitan. When I arrived La Paz the CL-66B was standing in front of the TAM terminal awaiting our flight, but half an hour before scheduled departure it was towed away an replaced to with a BAe146-200. Luckily the BAe departed without us and after a long wait the Cosmopolitan returned. Finally after a bit more than a four hour delay we were on our way. I was still happy though, I got to fly in the CL-66B, one of very few of this type. Anyway the ... read more

After a nice weekend at the pool in Santa Cruz (coincidently together with the Bolivian National Football Team) it was time to head back to La Paz. This time the ticket was booked on-line with Amaszonas. The first part of the journey was to be with Aerocon and their Do-228 CP-2176, great!! Before departure a couple of hours were spent on the excellent terrace at El Trompillo. Not a lot of activity but a few made the book, CP-2349 and FAB-66 were the only new frames to appear from Fridays visit. (lights and preserved not included). Santa Cruz - El Trompillo 10/SEP/2007 CP-1319 Curtiss C-46F untitled (active, but unfortunately not during my visit) CP-2176 Dornier 228-202K Aerocon CP-2328 Let L-410UVP-E Aeroeste CP-2349 Let L-410UVP-E10 Aeroeste CP-2393 Let L-410UVP-E Aerocon (only 'Aero' titles left) CP-2462 Boeing 727-264(A) ... read more

After four weeks in Bolivia it was finally time for some aviation action. My wife and I planed a trip to Santa Cruz for the weekend to spend some time at the pool. Luckily for me that also gave some opportunities for some spotting and even some photography. At 6:40 Friday morning I jumped in a taxi from our hotel. I was only flying at 8:30 but I wanted to catch the two Aerosur departures to Santa Cruz and Cochabamba at 7:00. Anyway I missed those as I arrived the airport 15 minutes too late. On the road into the terminal you pass a number of stored old-props, so after check-in, I decided to go back to investigate and take a few photos. From the road you also have a view on the Air Force part. ... read more

Early out of bed and off to Schiphol. That was the start of a four year adventure in South America. After using a lots of time with check-in and trying to get a tax-free stamp for some stuff we wanted to bring, there was only a little time left for spotting at Amsterdam-Schiphol, before boarding flight KL743 to Lima, Peru. Flight was operated Boeing 777-200 PH-BQO, and I had a very comfortable flight in seat 3J. Yep, you are right, didn’t pay myself. After almost 13 hours of flying we arrived Lima - Jorge Chavez Int'l after a beautiful descent over the Andes Mountains. It was only around 16:00lt so I had some time to note down a few frames before continuing to La Paz, Bolivia later in the evening. I stayed in the international terminal ... read more
