Always beautiful in northern NSW. From camping at Lake Ainsworth to staying in holiday houses on the esplanade with views of the beach. Fantastic place to ride or walk into town or even right up to the headland where you might see the whales pass by. Or maybe watch the dolphins play. You can walk into town on the beach or on the quiet main street. We make use of the quiet streets by riding everywhere. Some lovely restaurants to try - great Thai!. Quite a few cafes to visit. Some nice little clothing stores to check out but most of the time you are lazing on the beach or SUP on the lake. The local club has something on most nights whether it be karaoke, muso jam session or the footy! The local SLSC opens ... read more

Departed from Sydney at 6pm. Boarded around midday. It was great to sit down for lunch and enjoy the beautiful surroundings of the Harbour Bridge and Opera House. Not to mention our balcony facing The Rocks. Many people were into the cocktails but I took it easy with the knowledge of the waves getting a little bit rough when going through the headlands. In fact the first 24hours usually is the worst as we leave the coast of Australia. We opted for a balcony room with 4 beds (Queen and bunk). Considering we were hardly ever in the cabin it was perfect. The balcony is wonderful for when we arrive and depart destinations, however Serenity is a fantastic spot for departures - if you can get a seat! A balcony is also good for pegging out ... read more

Not far from the city is a beautiful beach town called Glenelg. Beach but no waves - sorry surfers! You can drive or maybe the tram from the city is a better option for you. Once you arrive you will notice a long pier, grassy picnic area and the kid in you will see waterslides!!!! Or the carousel or the games room - so much fun!!! Take a stroll around and you will come to an old tram carriage or head into town a little bit and do some light shopping (along the tramway line). There are some nice cafes in this strip too but I found them a little bit expensive. In Summer the kids will love the water play area in what seems to be the mall or square.... read more

An alpine village in Winter. Ski fields by day and fireplaces by night. Expect the main hub to be busy during the winter but the vibe is young and relaxed. Obviously most are hoping to hit the slopes early in the morning so you won't see too much loutish behaviour or late night cheer. The busy time of day is "happy hour". Everyone has headed down the mountain and keen for a feast and a beer. The main hub has so many options for dining and caters for all budgets. From burgers, mexican, pizza, irish pubs to more extravagant dining at the various hotels. The mall is nice for a bit of shopping or picking up souvenirs. Sometimes they set up ice skating in town otherwise head over to the rink and maybe catch a game ... read more
