We started out early today to head to a Masai Village en route to Nairobi so we could fly back to Mombassa, we have covered so many miles it is unbelievable but well worth every minute. The Masai Village was very interesting the Masai live in the open with all of the animals, their houses are made out of mud and cow poo which is used as a waterproofing compound...apparently. The Masai live off the land and fend off cheetahs, hyenas and lions every day. We had a city tour around Nairobi and took in the main sites before heading off to the famous Carnivore restaurant to try Crocodile and Ostrich. The Ostrich was not too bad but the Crocodile was like eating fishy chicken not to Vic's taste and certainly not to Matt's. The rest ... read more
Another early breakfast and we headed off to the Mara en route to the Serengetti in Tanzania, the abudance of Zebra, Wilderbeast, Gazelles, Giraffes, Elephants, mongoose, Baboons, Antelope as just unbelievable, Lion food every where you looked. We saw another congregation of vans in the distance and we headed over to have a nose. There were seven female lions all resting in some bushes, we also saw Wilderbeast all marching in a line heading further in to the Mara from the Serengetti, wilderbeast migrating so we headed in front of them to try and get a picture but they all stopped...not because of us, because of the lions. Unfortunately Wilderbeast are attracted to the scent of lions. We headed off to see a herd of Giraffes when we noticed a lone Wilderbeast becoming confused by the ... read more
Well another 8hr drive to the Mara through the Great Rift Valley which was awe inspiring the volcanic plateaus go on for miles, a long drive but a great scenic view of Kenya. We arrived at KeeKrook lodge at around 15.30 and were again welcomed with a hot flannel and cold drink. The lodge is amazing frequented by Royalty including Charlie and his Mum. The lodge is situated right on the edge of a watering hole home to a herd of Henry's, Matt is in his element and you can here them grunting all over the lodge. We had a quick bite to eat and headed of on our first game drive into the Mara. We saw a few Safari vans congregating in the distance and quick blurb amongst the crackle of the radio, revealed there ... read more
Well another amazing start to the day we had a game drive through Amboseli and took some really close up shots of Giraffes and Elephants, and another 8hr drive to Lake Nakuru. As soon as we entered the park we saw hundreds of Baboons and Rhinos grazing right next to the track, you could practically touch them. WOW again... On the way up to the lodge we asked why was the majority of the edge of the lake all pink in the distance, and our guide (James) said they were flamingos, 1000s of them all live on the lake. well that was it... thought Vic was going to have kittens, but we had to wait until our game drive. Lake Nakuru lodge was amazing not quite as personal as the camp site but still amazing, again ... read more
After a catching a few hours sun inbetween the typhoons and Vic having a diving lesson we decided to get out and explore a little more, and in true Matt n Vic style decided on a 2000km trip around Kenya through Tsavo East and West and into Amboseli, Lake Nakuru, Masai Mara, Serengetti national parks, and then onto Nairobi, come on bring it on... We arrived in Amboseli at around 14.30pm after a 9 hour drive, and wow just on the way to the tented camp we saw in abundance giraffes, wilderbeast, wart hogs, gazelles, monkeys, elephants, and birds with so many colours it was unbelievable. Once we arrived at the tented camp we were greeted with a much welcomed hot flannel and cold drink. The camp was amazing situated right in the middle of the ... read more
Hi guys we have landed safe and well and are in paradise, the hotel is amazing the beaches are fantastic, just a shame we are in the middle of a typhoon and are the only people in the hotel. You may think this is great but there are 143 rooms and only around 20 taken with most people out on Safari, so we have zillions of waiter/essess eager to please, still we don't have to worry about reserving sunbeds. Having said that the food is out of this world, and we are trying to get used to this luxury. We feel a little penned in because there is hardly anyone to talk to and the weather is not great, so against all advice we decided to venture outside of the hotel and explore the African neighbourhood. ... read more

It was amazing we dived two sites the Japanese gardens and white rock where we saw angel fish, mantaray, trillions of tiny coral fish, trigger fish and tons more just like Finding Nemo it was amazing, but took Vic alot of courange and she had to hold the instuctors hand all the time we were down there! In the evening we watched a really cool fire dancing show at a funky bar which was a great way to end a brilliant few days before heading back to Bangkok and home xx... read more
