So we were on our way to Nazca. We left Ica early in the morning following Lynsey making a great effort at making a hotel reservation by phone in spanglish. At least we knew we had a bed for the night. We headed to the Cruz Del Sur bus station hoping to jump on a bus to Nazca. We were immediately shot down and told that there was only one seat left. This took a few moments to register as we couldnt or wouldnt accept that this was possible. Following "what are we going to do now?" (by Ross) we walked across the street and hopped onto a Soyuz bus used by the locals. This saved us quite a bit of cash and was just as comfortable. So after a tearful goodbye to Lima we were on our way out of the smoggy, noisy and crazy city. We jumped on our Cruz del Sur bus and made our way south for 5 hours to a small oasis called Huacachina. So after a relaxing evening in London with Scott & Katie, we were in 'Shamble Town' of Iberia check-in. We were delayed out of Heathrow for an hour, resulting in a mad dash through Madrid airport, luckily we had our trainers on and backpacks already checked-in! After 11 hours of pure comfort and plane food we were here. Like Ricardo said, our taxi driver was waiting for us. As we got into what we can only describe as a 'death trap' , Ross quickly asked the driver where the seatbelts were?!?! The driver then locked us in in the car...safety first and everything!! After 30 minutes of a white knuckle ride through the streets of Lima we arrived at our hostel and collapsed into bed, a well deserved 13 hour sleep!! Monday 5th November So today ... read more

After months of planning, the day has finally arrived. After a frantic night of packing and checking and double checking we are ready. Sad to leave sunny Fife behind but I am sure Lima will welcome us with open arms.... read more
