highs saw the 'david' sculpture (all 3 of them) and 'the birth of venus' painting ate the best home made spinach and cheese ravioli ive ever tasted in florence walked around the colesseum and the roman forum saw the pope in st peters basillica, touched the feet of the statue of st peter and saw john paul ll's tomb took a sneaky photo of the ceiling in the sistine chapel of the 'creation of adam' which is on my bedroom wall at home lows got woken up at 3am by 3 drunk canadian guys who were staying in my room have the worst t-shirt tan line at the top of my arms got bitten by a mozzie while I was sleeping and my eye puffed up got very very drunk and consequently very very sick went ... read more

highs swam in the mediterranean sea rode on a bus around the monaco grand prix hairpin ate some great gelati (with much more to come no doubt) lows meeting people that i get along really well with, but then either me or them are leaving for the opposite direction in the next day or two people i've met 2 canadian brothers, chris and paul, who have been travelling around the world for 2-3 months (including a stint in australia!), and their mum denise and chris's girlfriend chelsea who flew in a couple of days before to meet up with the guys andy from adelaide, sander from holland, a really cool couple from canada (don't remember their names though) 4 guys from san diego, steve, richard (aka hegger), ali, and sean 8 girls from texas - too ... read more

highs walked down the stairs near the sacre coeur where amelie was filmed saw the european countryside i'd always thought of in luxembourg got to go up to the 3rd floor of the eiffel tower - which is rarely open apparently lows got sunburnt in vianden and now have a t-shirt mark across my shoulders booked wrong date on train ticket to nice so had to stay in paris for an extra night rained again when i got back to paris - i swear its just when im there people i've met more dormmates - abe from colorado, inessa from toronto, sabrina from california, monica an au pair from austria whose is currently working in luxembourg, a girl from korea, an american lady from boston (neither of who's names I can remember) Sorry for being a ... read more

highs saw the mona lisa (and various other paintings and sculptures) at the louvre stood on top of the arc de triumphe visited notre dame and climbed all the way to the top (which nearly killed me...) lows the rain - it's rained every day since i've been here the lingering smell in my dorm room, even though i'm driving my dormmates mad by opening the window every chance i get people i've met more dormmates - elena from argentina, edson from brazil (who has japanese grandparents and lives/studies in bristol??), a lady from the czech republic (don't remember her name though), and a wierd american guy called phil It's my fourth day here in Paris and i'm kind of over it already. highs got my first glimpse of the eiffel tower lows i'm in a mixed dorm and there's no door on the bathroom, just a shower curtain people i've met 3 people in my dorm room (didnt ask their names) - a guy from melbourne, a girl from sydney & a guy from india I left Bec's today and caught the Eurostar to Paris, which I would highly recommend over flying anyday. I then caught the Paris Metro to my hostel, which was much easier than I thought it would be. I walked out of the Metro station and tried to orientate myself and in the end just followed my nose. highs seeing big ben touring the 'new' globe theatre seeing all of london on the london eye lows the rain - right as we got to the top of the london eye the coffee they serve here people i've met clarky - but technically i already know her emmas other roomie, gabs - and her boyfriend russell... highs standing in front of buckingham palace & kensington palace seeing a mother swan and her ducklings (?) in hyde park lows saying goodbye to my mum, kelly and sophie people i've met emmas roomies - xena, greg, shannon, dan I arrived on sunday morning after 20 something hours in the air to find that I didnt have any credit on my phone and couldnt text my friend Emma to get her to meet me.
