Hi Caroline, Wow, Maya looks so responsive and interested in the photos. I'm really looking forward to meeting her. And you look beyond happy! Enjoy this very special time. You deserve it. AND it only gets better from here! AND she'll look great in a Carlton jumper. My very best regards to Selma and Patty. Love David
mazal tov! Awww Caz - I just read the update of the handover and saw all the photos! I'm sitting here in tears - and frankly my colleagues in the office are welling up too and they've never even met you! Maya is just gorgeous and you both look so incredibly happy. I can't wait to see the two of you back here.
Happy bonding!
Lots of love

What a gorgeous girl. She is devinely beautiful! What an angel! Congratulations to you Caroline, we are all ecstatic here. Can't wait to see you both in Melbourne.
happy birthday Connor! Happy Birthday big boy!! (Younger than betrothed is a good thing from my experience) Hope you had a fun day that you won't remember but will be told lots of stories about it. Photos and videos are wonderful for memories.
My admiration & sincere appreciation goes to both Katrena & Nicky for being there for ecstatic Caroline & beautiful Maya. Can't wait to meet you all. since apparently we are now all related!!!
Love to all
Nanna
P.S. please kiss Maya on her tushy for me
You look so happy! M.F.E.O. You two look like you were "Made For Each Other" - what a fantastic story, and all honours to you for your courage in hanging in there for so long, I'm so glad it has worked out well. You know, of course, that the Year of the Dog is very fortuitious - personality-wise, I'm sure she will turn out to be a very happy little darling, loved by all. And you will be a FANTASTIC mother!
Cheers, Lisa.
mazaltov!! The sheer joy in your face Caroline is worth everything! Maya is truly a gorgeous happy beautiful baby. If anyhting is square...it's that she is squarely in your arms from now and for always. Of course I let out a yelp here at work when I received your blog (have been checking every hour for last 2 days) and everyone rushed over to see my new darling granddaughter. Thankyou for that honour Caroline. Maya will be cherished and adored like all my grandkids. Kisses Nanna Naomi
Oh Happy Day!!! Just overwhelmed at the moment, reading your blog and looking at your beautiful daughter. My heart is overflowing for you both. Congratulations Mama - you have the prize, and she is simply breath-taking....

Bloody airlines!! Can't believe they lost your luggage!! Really hope that it turns up soon. You do know that you can get four days worth of wear out of one pair of undies, right? Right way, backwards, inside out right way, inside out backwards:) Let's hope you don't need to resort to this archaic and somewhat dubious form of personal hygeine. Now where are those photos of Maya?????
Keep Smiling! Hey Caz, glad to see you've retained your sense of humour - this will be your most valuable asset over the next 18 years (or even, the next 6 weeks!).
Hope it all goes well, enjoy the exciting adventure of Life!
Cheers, Leese
YEEHHAHH!! You go teach those Chinese a thing or two about rudeness Caroline!! Only joking of course - wishing you safe travels and one humdinger of a first meeting with your beautiful Maya. DON"T FORGET TO POST PHOTOS!!!!!

The suitcase has exploded Okay - so I haven't got the packing art down yet. Who would have thought one child of nearly one could need so much. I keep berating him for having given up the boob - it was so much easier not having to worry about formula and bottles and sterilising stuff and.... Anyway we are dead excited - well I am, Connor doesn't have a clue but he loved HOng Kong so I'm optomistic. Good news Caroline is the my web temperature thing yesterday said only 30 in Guangzhou! Of course it was also raining which has probably sent the humidity through the roof. I've also been on the web and looked at hotel - pretty impressive. I'm a little concerned about the mosquito factor with the river in the foyer but it looks gorgeous. I've been showing COnnor Maya's picture - not sure he gets it but who knows, it might generate love at first sight.
Travel Safely Dearest Pony,
Travel safely and don't eat the airline spaghetti. Oh, and bring me back some fortune cookies (but not from the "stick with your wife" barrel"). I think that's it.
It's all very exciting. I so happy for you.

Fantastic news! Hey Caroline, I just got back from leave inter-state - Great to hear! Don't worry about the weight - my son was 9kg born, but he was a healthy baby and toddler - it's so much easier to care for a child like that, rather than one that is underweight. Now, of course, he's nearly six foot tall, and extremely slim!
How wonderful that Maya is the same star sign as you - and Cancer's are so family / home oriented - regardless of what you think of these things, I'm sure you'll notice a close connection between Mother and Daughter - how great does that sound..... Mummy!
Talk soon, Lisa.
Urghhh I can imagine the level of angst and frustration you must be feeling. While I haven't yet uncrossed fingers - and won't until official confirmation - I will be ready to help you through what will seem the longest month ever til we get the good news.

Seven years ago, I met my gorgeous daughter, Maya, from the Yang Dong orphanage, and we have been inseparable ever since. Our journey was chronicled on this blog. We are about to embark on another journey to the Zhengzhou orphanage to welcome the newest member of our family, Sam. So, we're puttin' the band back together.... full info
