Done it again Hi Lizzie P
You may not have seen my recent messages as I may have made a horlicks of the input etc. Good to hear you packing so much into your travel. I would have liked to have met the Maori - a living book as you may say. Enjoy the train ride and I certainly hope it is better than my experience in India. Love John
Exciting or what? Hi Lizzie P
Wow you are certainly packing a lot in! People sound interesting and particularly would have liked to meet the Maori! John Wright the NZ cricketer who played for for us some time ago said that Derbyshire was so like NZ that he could settle here. Good to hear from you. Very cold here just now so you won't be missing that!! Love John
tractors Tell Alf it is old tractor heaven out here, in fact old anything heaven!! Met a group of Ford Anglia drivers yesterday and had a good evening's drinking with them - very friendly lot. One of them had seen a garage full of old bikes and vehicles - practically had to tie him down so he couldn't drive off with spare parts!! Going for an old train ride tomorrow - LOL!!
Sooooo jealous Just read this after doin my own bit of eco composting! Wonder if they have any ford dexta tractors out there? Alf thinks every body wants one.
What happened? To your last entry?
Glad you got the camera thing dealt with, know the feeling well!
Terry grinned when I read him your comment - mind you it's also a really good place for Maclaren traction engines too - watch out, you might get a chance to steer one if you're lucky. I can recommend it if you get the chance.
Phew Glad to hear you had arrived safely. Re the phone, its the little things of life that b...you up. I won't bother watching Monty Don now we have our own traveller en blog. Those gardens sound good. NO SCISSORS AND POLY BAGS-unless you share the cuttings!
Venice indeed Oh dear, just wondering why you had gone to NZ via Italy before the penny dropped. Must be my age eh. All sounds exciting and you have only just started. Had a lot of local publicity about my award and just enjoying my own '15 minutes' back here. Good to hear from you and hope flight ok. NZ will be wonderful I suspect. Love, John B.
Hooray For Hollywood! I am so jealous about the California part. I won’t be so jealous when you start telling us about how you sleep in a tent and potty outdoors. That is not for me, but I hope you have a great time! I am so glad you are doing this travel blog again so we can go along with you :)
Great stuff! Glad you are having fun, loved the chickens. And as for the second coffee mocha of the week ................... hope it was good!
Take care.
Love H
not jealous I had a lovely walk around pittsford water, much be much nicer than being in LA and walking along the beach in warm sunshine. But I could of course be wrong.
Have a great time and keep us posted.
Back to W*£! tomorrow. Lovely earlies (07.00 am) start. You know how much I love that...
And that's just for starters!! Hi Lizzie P.
Good to hear that you have had a good start!! Hollywood sounds good, wonder if you will be 'discovered'. Hmmm! Never expeienced such a range of time zone myself, must seem strange. England won first two 20/20 games in NZ fairly easily and warming up for the real stuff when the Test Matches start. Do hope you get the chance to see them. Go for it Liz - memories are better than dreams.
Love, John
gardens in nz Glad you got there safely! Gosh, what a learning curve... It's known as the fruit and nutcase capital of America. The best way to get the most from it is to go with the flow!!!
Have to tell you that we watched this prog on tv with monty don visiting gardens in nz and austrailia. They were so fascinating. Can't wait to go to nz myself. There was one beautiful one near auckland called Ayrelies. Maybe Wendy will know of it. Looks to be worth a visit if you have time on your schedule.
Just off to the gym. Have planned to spend a couple of hours there. Then a bike ride if the weather brightens and then it's the Globe tonight where some of your pals will be!! Stay safe. Love Shirl. PS Still waiting for the mic to arrive so tht I can use skype. Enjoy your meal with Paulie, Thurs.
entry I have been notified of every entry in your travel blog, but for some reason I was not notified of this one. For all I know, you could be back in England now :)
