change comes quickly You are probably close to landing in very Atlanta (and soon Kansas) now! What a wonderful last post -- you are right, the small things take on such new meaning in a different context. I am looking forward to our meeting soon and will email. Thanks for your reflections and congratulations on the Apollos Award!!
pictures Liz--Just rec'd your last e-note and pictures that followed. It has been a privilege to follow your ventures in Peru....full of memorable, precious times. Thanks for sharing. The pictues are great, too. Know they'll conger up many memories---memories you'll carry with you the rest of your life! Without a doubt, you have made a positive difference in many lives.
We wish you safe and pleasant travels back to GA. We left GA just this week. Our stay was longer than originally planned. Sorry we'll miss you!
Have a good year of studies. God Bless.........Love, Norma/Bob
Leaving a legacy Dear Liz, your summer has been so memorable to so many. Your blogs have brought people and Lima alive to us and I know that you will dwell in the hearts of those you have met there and ministered to. You are an amazing young lady and both here and there we can all say amen to that! Safe journey home. Love and prayers, Shirley
Vaya con Dios Hi Liz - thanks for your periodic updates this summer - they've helped me feel a continued connection with all the folks we met there, particularly the CAMBIALO kids in La Oroya and the members of the IEP Mirones Bajo.
Safe travels back to the USA and may you have continued learning, fun and many blessings this year in seminary.

answers to maureen's random questions nope, not packed yet. about to start though.
i know nothing about a plague outbreak, so i'm assuming i am not close.
funny you mention the speeding ticket...of the OTHER elizabeth toland in town. i'm sure you're not the only one wondering this.
random thoughts ezbeth, are you packed yet? How close are you to the area with the plague outbreak? And finally, how could you get a speeding ticket while you were in Peru. Meems
Cambiola Kids Hey Liz, great film project idea!! Did the kids help write the script? What were their comments after this experience? I bet they're excited to be apart of this life-changing act of justice.
Clean Park Liz, you're doing great work in Lima! I'm curious, what was your sermon about? Is there a team in place to continue cleaning the park routinely? Did the spectators say anything once the park was clean? When do you come home?
I'm so glad that you made it through your sermon! I'm sorry you weren't feeling completely yourself when you lead worship, but I am glad that you were able to share this part of your identity with the church. And, sounds like the park clean-up was great fun afterwards-what a funny teaching moment you had! :)
From Preaching to ????? Liz, I'm glad you're feeling better and that the sermon went well, as well as the clean up afterwards. Sounds like you were outstanding in the pulpit and in the pick-up department! I'm curious what your sermon was about.
It won't be long now... Hard to believe that your time is more than half over, that in just a few weeks you will be saying good bye to these dear people. I'm glad you found a welcoming community to be part of. It makes all the difference, as far as I'm concerned. On my own I am useless! Carpe diem--and tuck the memories away for telling when you return. Love and blessings on you and your amazing work. Lalor
Ecclesiological Ecstasy I am so glad you found a congregation, and not just any congregation, but this one in which to be active, Liz. Clearly, IEP is a model for us all. Thanks for sharing (except for the spicy guinea pig)!
You are a story teller I was right there with you all the way. This summer I think I am going to take a week off and go to a storytelling conference at the John C Campbell School in (I think) North Carolina. You might want to think about that one day when your life is your own again. You have a real gift. Take care, dear Elizabeth. See you in Aug/Sept. Love Lalor
