I may have told a little porkie pie about my last blog post being my last! Well this one is only going to be brief! 2 flights down and just one mammoth one to go. Flight from Melbourne to Sydney was all good, I think i fell asleep before we took off and woke up just before we landed!! Richard Branson is on our Virgin Flight from Sydney through to London. He's been out in Australia rebranding the Aussie products. He had the cheek to push in front of me, yes me! in the Transit queue.... does he not know who I am?! Anyway, just sat at the gate waiting to reboard. Haven't got the energy to go and spend my Hong Kong dollars that i got 2 weeks ago so I'll have to use them ... read more

Well my day didn't really have the best start!! Firstly I had another lousy sleep which has really made me feel sick and shaky today. Lisa and lack of sleep don't really mix!! Secondly the lady at breakfast managed to pour tea all over the table! Bless her. Being tired I couldn't take advantage of the breakfast buffet either!! Sorry pal!!! It looks like I'll not have time for brekkie tomorrow either as I have to leave on the airport shuttle at 6.30! I forgot to mention a strange story from yesterday at the 12 apostles. I was stood on a bench there to get a birds eye view. Some Chinese people were there with their video cameras and in turn they got up on the bench with me hugged me, we waved at the camera ... read more

So there's no rest for the wicked eh?! Another 7am pick up - however there was a problem with the bus so it turned out to be 7.30!! Those extra 30 mins sleep would have been more than welcomed! After all the hotel collections we made our way out of the City and travelled along the Western Highway through Geelong. Our first stop was at Bells Beach - here we watched the surfer dudes out on their boards! It was a particularly chilly and breezy morning and not so many big waves breaking but they were still having a go. Having watched them I think i'd spend more time falling off the surfboard and only managing to hoist myself onto it once it landed on the beach! I think I'll leave it to the professionals!!!! Our ... read more

G'day team. How's it going? Well can you believe my time in Melbourne is nearly at an end?! It's insane how quickly this trip has whizzed by. Spent the morning pottering around at Wilson and Karen's, packing, unpacking, repacking etc! I frustrate myself sometimes. Anyway, had a lovely walk along Brighton beach and had a look at the brightly coloured Beach Huts there. Also went for a wander around St Kilda and had a spot of lunch there. It was so bitterly cold - just because of the wind chill but the sun was shining. We popped to Luna Park too - it was closed but got some pictures outside in front of the scary clown face!!!!! Yuk. Was really tough to say goodbye to Wil and Karen, it was really lovely to see them and ... read more

Oh yes, you read that right!!!! Neighbours tour day!!! Arghhhh, getting up at the crack of dawn as we needed to be at the tour office for 8.30am and we made our way to the train station in Sandringham. It only took 35 mins to get to Flinders Street station in the City and the hustle and bustle of the city and those off to work! I'd driven past the tour office on the Sunday when I'd hailed a taxi from the Hilton at the Wharf to the train station but, in true Lisa Thomas fashion, had failed to realise it was over 300 building numbers away from the train station!!!! Ooops. Distance and size have really never been my strong point! I refer people back to when i ordered new pin boards for work and ... read more

Happy Tom Day everyone!! Hope this blog finds you well. It's Tom day and it's time for my journey to Ferntree Gully!! Got up had some raisin toast (mmmmm) and was luck enough to get a lift in to the City with Karen and her friend Beck. They were doing some hair and make up for the Logies - I think it's a bit like the NTA's in the UK (National Television Awards). Once in the city I got a taxi to the train station and I swear I've never felt so under prepared in my life!!!!! I went to the window to ask for a ticket and the lady just handed me a $3.20 one..... looking at the price I asked her if that would actually get me back from Ferntree Gully and not stuck ... read more

G'day one and all, How ya going? Hope you are all well. My last blog entry was from a train in the middle of nowhere practically. So what I didn't get to write in that entry was that the train journey just went from bad to worse!! I mentioned the screaming kids.... they actually managed to scream for the entire journey - not only that, the train kept breaking down!!!! It must have been just after i published my blog that the first breakdown occurred. Some fuses blew for the engine cooling system but we were assure that the, and I quote, 'Clever drivers have managed to solve the problem and we're on our way!' Well all that sounds good but when the initial breakdown is at a station and further overheating problems occurred in the ... read more

Well well well I'm a week in to being on Aussie soil and it's been an amazing week.  From the experiences of Sydney to Taronga then onto Adelaide and Kangaroo Island it's been a whirlwind to say the least.  Today is my travel day from Adelaide to Melbourne and what I thought would be a restful day. Firstly the taxi driver I had this morning to the railway station was somewhat odd. I thought seeing as it was 6.30am he was cleaning the taxi before I got in. But what I thought was his duster he proceeded to place it on his head and tuck it behind his ears!!!! I'm not even joking. He didnt speak a word to me on route nor did he help me with the removal of my luggage from the taxi! ... read more

Well after being the first on the bus yesterday I was last off at The Seafront resort. Unfortunately it was dark once we arrived so no idea what the scenery was! I had dinner in the hotel restaurant with Craig and Diane a couple from Las Vegas. Really lovely and we swapped travel stories and discussed future travel plans. I think I turned in about 9pm exhausted from the 12 hour travels of K I ! So maybe I was overtired or maybe just over excited about what today may bring but I woke up at 4am!! Unable to get back to sleep I had text chats with Mum and Donna and Marky Mark. Luckily once it was time to get up and be down for breakfast the sun was coming up and I went along ... read more

Happy Kangaroo island day!! I was up at insane o'clock also known as 5am! I finished packing, stored my large bags and took my overnight bag to wait for the bus. He arrived at 6am an slightly tired I got on to find I was the first. After an hour of driving around the city doing hotel collections we made it to the bus station to collect the other passengers. We then made the 1 hr 45min drive to cape jervis where the ferry was to leave from. After boarding I swiftly picked myself up a cuppa Rosie Lee - was delicious drunk on the top deck. The sun hadn't been up for long but it was lovely and warm and I took advantage of that as we made the 45min ferry journey. It wasn't exactly ... read more
