Greetings Hi Lisa, This is the first time I realized that I could send a comment. (slow learner)
What a great adventure you are having and what a great experience. Good luck in settling in a city in which you want to work.
Love you, Papa
Wild Beaver Of course you are maxing out on the adrenaline rushes - you better save some of that energy for oh, I don't know swimming with sharks or something much safer than skydiving. Sounds like fun!
LISA....Papa and I are enjoying your descriptions of what you have been experiencing. You are really on a great adventure. Sky diving? Wow! We are going to Albuquerque Tuesday a.m. Will be back in oregon on the 3rd of November. Tonight, we are going to Ann's for Chinese food....Will get to play with their puppy, now called MAX!. He is getting much more playful....He's definitely a cutie. Your parents are going to stop here tomorrow for a short visit....Will be good to see them. So happy they are back in Oregon!!! Love you, Nana Papa sends hugs
Are you crazy? What are you doing rafting in caves and skydiving? Are you trying to make us worry about you or just having fun? I have enjoyed reading all about your trip. Thanks for sharing it with all of us. Sending our love. Be safe if not cautious.
hi Hi Lisa. Sounds like you are having a wild time. You are really brave to take a trip so far away from friends and family. I have enjoyed reading your stories--I didn't know what a blog was until you sent this. As you know, your parents are settled at the beach house. I'm glad that they are back in Oregon. I guess we will be having Thanksgiving at the beach and that date is not too far away. Time goes by so quickly. Take care. Have fun. Love, Ann
HELLO FROM OREGON LISA: Your trip sounds absolutely exciting. Gosh, you have been busy doing so many unbelievable activities.......good your have made some friends....makes your days so much more fun. We are all fine here...Papa and I will be in Albuquerque next week. Love you Nana and Papa
Hi! Hey Lisa. Sounds like you are having a very adventurous time. What fun. You are so brave to go skydiving. I could never do that. Did you hear the news at the Martin household? We have a dog and he's a springer spaniel. He's a handful right now and we are trying to decide on a perfect name for him. Any suggestions? He's really cute though--hopefully Joslyn will like him and won't be too annoyed.
Franky is going to the homecoming dance this Saturday with a date. Jackson is going too, but without a date. I took him to the GAP last night and he picked out some cords, a nice cotton shirt and sweater. He's all legs right now. It was great hearing from you. Have fun.
Love, Ann
skydiving! it sounds like you are definitely taking advantage of all the great things to see and do in New Zealand! That is awesome! I went skydiving a few years ago, and it was super fun! I'm sure skydiving in New Zealand is a bit more exciting than skydiving in Mollala, Oregon, but you know.... Glad to hear things are going so well! :)
wow dang lisa, sky diving in new zealand, talking with the locals and seeing the haka live, im jealous. sounds like youre having a great time. i want to come visit!
Having a blast? Hey Lisa,
I am so glad that you are having a good time. I can't wait to find out where you are going to be living. Do you find it slightly odd not living together this term? I knew it was going to be this way, but it is just weird without you and Sarah around. I hope you keep up with the journal because it is fun to read.
Cheers!
Sam
uhhhh Dude, I think this is where I respond to your 'journal'. I have never seen this site before...pretty cool though.
I have a good friend that lives on the southern end of the south island. Let me know if that is where you are going to be I'll give her a shout. Although the last I heard she was in Ireland, but we can give it a go.
Hope you have a stellar Kiwi experience. Keep me informed...I'll do anything to procrastinate these days. =)
Miss you already,
Hutto
Hiya from Oregon Hey Lisa,
Great to hear from you. It is Thurday a.m. here and I'm sitting at work looking out at a dark grey sky. Fall has come quickly, or should I say winter, this year. The boys have 2 days off from school so they will be catching up on their rest. Have a great tour.
Love, Annie
Oregon So while you are in weather like Oregon, your parents have actually made it all the way back to Oregon. Not sure who really had the longer journey - since it took them a whole year to get back to where they belong.
Yay for Lisa! I think it is so cool that you actually did it! You are on the other side of the planet and making it on your own. I would be so scared, but so excited at the same time.
P.S. Have you seen any hobbits yet?
Hello from Oregon Hi Lisa,
It's Tuesday morning here and I'm at work.Great to hear from you. Good luck with finding a place to live and finding a job. I'm sure you will find both! The boys asked about you. We'll have to learn about New Zealand so we can ask you intelligent questions and understand more about where you are living. Take care. And, Cheers!
Love, Auntie Ann
Congrats Lisa- Congratulations on taking such a big adventure. I am very amazed by you and your ability to be so willing to find direction as you go. I thought moving to the South was crazy... another country, I think you got me beat. :o)
OSU Women win Gobblerfest Social That's right. We've done it again. We out-partied all those sonsabitches, out drank them, out danced them, out sang them.
A few of them did put the boots to us in the tournament, though. We still ended up 3rd.
Keep up the journal, and safe travels!
Cheers,
Mark
Best Wishes! Hi Lisa,
Hope you have arrived in New Zealand. We will miss you, but sounds like we will hear from you occasionally. Who knows--maybe we'll come visit you? Have a great time. You're a brave young woman! Love, Annie

Having no idea of what I wanted to do after graduating I decided to head out and see the world, or a least another part of it. I started this blog mainly to keep my friends and family updated on what I am up to while I’m away. I’ll try to write as often as I can and I hope you all enjoy.
I have always been interested in the world around me. Both natural and manmade features never cease to amaze me, and I find cultures fascinating. When I began college at Oregon State University in the fall of 2001 I had already been to Mexico, Italy, France, most of the western United States (including Ha... full info
