Greetings from Christchurch, the garden city of New Zealand. Christchurch is the largest city on the South Island and is also the second largest city in the country with a population of around 370,000. Christchurch is a nice, but it's just another city. My plan was to make my way to Christchurch, find a job and stay here for a while. Now that I am actually here my plans have changed. I like both Wanaka and Queenstown better than Christchurch because both of those cities were small and more secluded and surronded by lakes and mountains. Christchurch, to me, is just another city--- it has large buildings and shopping malls, along with all other modern conveniences anyone could ever ask for. This is not the New Zealand I have seen over the last month and this is not the New Zealand I want to experience while I am here. So on Monday or Tuesday I am heading out for Wanaka to find a job and start my year here in New Zealand.

Hi Lisa, This is the first time I realized that I could send a comment. (slow learner) What a great adventure you are having and what a great experience. Good luck in settling in a city in which you want to work. Love you, Papa
