Rain! The rain doesn't sound as oppressive as in Spain, for instance. I'm guessing the sun comes out between, that it isn't the grey that we get sometimes.
It sounds like a really interesting home stay!
Memories Hi, you seem to be doing good, happy for you. Your stay in the village reminded me of my stay in the north of Thailand. We had trekked a bit to a small village and stay in a house with a family. It was on the side of the river. So people washed, kids payed and we had helped with the food also. In the morning your girls came to offer jewellery they had made. A nice experience.
Enjoy reading your adventures .It is nice that you have a good group. All is well in Calgary. Much colder in Regina and Edmonton and East but will warm up there. Felt like spring with sunshine and melting snow,Canada is in a mess. No movement with the blockades so many people are being laid off all over the country and no goods are going across Canada. The blockade in Edmonton was taken down by anti blockade group in Edmonton w/o violence. Premiers talked today and want to talk to the Prime Minister tomorrow.BC Wetsowet'sum Hereditary Chiefs flew to the Ontario Mowhaks so not a great situation. It will probably still be a mess when you get back. Enjoy your experience away from Canadian reality. There is and will be more divisions in Canada. Lots of anxiety and much more to come. Enjoy your new experiences. keep sharing as it is a nice escape from our political and indigenous mess.
So interesting Pam It sounds like you have managed an terrific overview, with temples and markets and buildings old and new, I hope you took lots of pictures. The people sound very pleasant and I am sure your guide will provide lots of insight into life in Sri Lanka. Keep us posted, it all sounds wonderful.
Trees The City of Regina is among nine Canadian cities to be recognized with the Tree Cities of the World designation by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations and the Arbor Day Foundation. The city has just over 179,000 trees in its street and park inventory. Way to go, Regina!
Experienced traveller Yes,Pam ,you really know how to plan a trip. ...apart from the contortions putting on socks in a plane seat that is.
Good idea to go into TO while awaiting your connection. Last September,Mike and I visited the Shoe Museum during our week there. Fascinating.
Hope you adjust to the climate soon.
Following your trio will be exciting!!! So far, I have enjoyed your descriptions. Keep them coming. Weather has been good, a few cold days, then warmth and back and forth. Looking forward to spring. I was at Sabinas funeral and thought you you might attend. About 30 O'Neill people were there,a good visit.
To the Amazing Traveler Wow Pam, Happy Valentines and Happy to see you made it safe & sound.
The shoe museum in Toronto sounded great, may have to check it out someday.
So happy you got to check into the hotel earlier than you thought, I am sure the shower and horizontal time was welcome.
I am sure you did lots of homework and checking out the Museum did give you an additional introduction. The population numbers makes me think of our trip to China, huge cities with so many people. The fact that you mention construction must mean that their economy is doing okay. I know nothing about SriLanka but will check out some of the sights you will be seeing. Stay cool and enjoy.

Such an adventure! How exciting, Pam! I, on the other hand, am probably NOT a traveller: the description of the flights and the waiting and finding the right place to be exhausts me. On the other hand, it is -28C here this morning, and I had to add air to my car tires 'cause the cold leaked it all out, so there is that. We are "patiently" waiting for warmer weather (supposed to be only -11C when we go home today). Enjoy!
Thank you for taking me along on your trip. They are always interesting and you commentary is great. 9 countries! How many countries have you been to in your travels? Welcome home; I hope you brought some warm weather with you!
Welcome home! You do sound ready to be home. I'm assuming you will want a day or two downtime but if you need a ride from airport let me know. See you soon!
I am off on another travel venture. This retirement thing is quite wonderful ,I recommend it to you all. Keep me posted on your activities.... full info
