What an adventure ! That is such a long trip! I am so glad that you didn’t lose your tablet and made it safe to Dublin. Happy thanksgiving ! Looking forward to hearing more …
Welcome home! I'm so relieved you are safely home. Finding your favourite foods may be a challenge if my quick stop to forage in the local grocery store is an indication. No bananas or potatoes. Didnt even check the tp.
London is a magnificent city. I'm sorry you had to leave early. But it was the right thing to do in these times. And you made good use of your time. I hope you stopped at the British Library for a quick look.
The right thing. Glad you had a good time and were able to get a flight home. We ,too, are cutting short our holiday. Leaving Charleston in the morning but not a smooth journey. Will self quarantine upon our return for the requisite 14 days. May be able to host bridge on April 1,,God willing ,virus absent and the others feel comfortable .venturing forth.
Welcome back Glad to hear that you are on your way back, it was a tough time for me to get back from Mexico, now I am on 14 day self- isolation according to Saskatchewan Covid-19 policy.hope you arrive home soon! !
I have had so much fun reading about your trip on this blog. Absolutely amazing the variety of things you have seen and done! The Asia stretch seems so interesting but also it sounds it was harder to participate in local life than back in Europe. Only to be expected I suppose given cultural, language and other differences. Portugal sounds amazing. Glad you are having so much fun with Brenda. Talking about climate change, The snow is melting here and lots of grass is showing. Warm days for awhile now. But cold coming.
Loved Portugal. Sounds wonderful Pam, we did enjoy it when we were there in 2009. I would love to go again because our visit was brief and part of a Mediterranean Cruise.
Tonight all travel to Europe has been suspended due to the virus. We trust you will have not problems getting home. Have not cancelled our May 1 trip yet, will wait and see.
Jolly good I imagine the hustle and bustle of London is a change after Sri Lanka. How is the coronavirus mood? Here we are trying to wash our hands thoroughly, trying not to touch our faces, and trying not to shake hands! Easier said than done. Some large events are being cancelled or postponed to maintain a healthy "social distance".
Lisboa Just catching up with you Pam...good to see you are on the move again packing in so much activity in one day. Lesley is coming to visit me the end of the month ..can't wait.
Will watch for further updates ....hugs and have fun.
Lisboa You have reminded us of our 2018 April visit to that lovely city. The Belem custard tarts were definitely the best. Glad you have navigated well and saved elevator money to spend on sangria.
Travels in Portugal The travel cards or zapping cards are great aren't they? Train metro and bus in the city and neighboring places like Sintra and Cascais. The forest around Pena Castle near Sintra was worth the entire trip I think. As was the lovely seaside in downtown Cascais. and the food is great!
Lisbon Hope Portugal is good for you. Savannah, where we are right now is very pretty. Sun shining but wind very cool. Hope you have all the right clothes.Take care on the cobbles and enjoy your time .
Portugal This is a big change from Asia, you should like Lisbon. Enjoy Fado music in one of the tavernas, I was touched by that music. The city is beautiful but a lot of hills. Good exercise. Enjoy. Suzanne.
If you don’t like the weather in Saskatchewan, wait five minutes. Hey Pam, great descriptions. We are so adaptive to the weather. Plus seven Celsius today with a forecast of big snow, then cold. Soak up all Lisbon and London provide. All is well here.
Great write up, agree with Lionel but I think you need to write a few travel adventure books. Glad no mention of the virous, scary. Hope all goes well in Europe.
Wow Pam your entries are awesome...…….you need to seriously think about writing a book about your global travels.
The elephant stories are great, have had the experience myself but your story on the leopard is even better. You are in a unique company...….one rarely see's the leopard.
Catching up Hello,
Pam we trust you are not seeing or hearing of any cases of the virus. Use lots of soap & water.
I do not envy you the 32 degrees, do hope your room is cool every night. We had nice weather all last week. High 70’s but no humidity. We do have rain today and a cold front coming on, it may freeze tomorrow night.
Busy couple of weeks here, Senior games. Tomorrow I have a committee set up to judge cakes, next week cupcakes and on Sunday three of us judged cornbread. I plan to enter A contest too with matrimonial cake & a Butter tart squares.
Take care.
Elephants and Leopards Your contact with elephants fascinated me. Next you wrote of leopards. They are so beautiful so I hope that you saw some and were able to get the photograph you spoke of. Sorry that the humidity is slowing you down.
I am off on another travel venture. This retirement thing is quite wonderful ,I recommend it to you all. Keep me posted on your activities.... full info
