I would just like to mention that I had written a Greece part 3 and it seems to have disappeared. It was about going some where you've always wanted to go and having it live up to your expectations. If you like that kind of thing. Anyway I won't re-write it, but will add it to a lame wrap up I have planned that has been distracting me from writing a play (well editing/changing) and the real world in general.... So for now we're sticking with Greece entries 1, 2 and 4.... which probably is how George II counts anyway. Or, my new theory, that the Mapia stole entry number 3 as punishment for revealing George II's association with them. ... read more

I have to say that Jessi is pretty smart. I mean she had a great GPA, profs always liked her, she got lots of scholarships and has managed to be basically fluent in German in less than a year. Which, I suppose, makes for an intelligent person. One would think anyway. While in Ios one night we had to make arrangements for accommodations in Santorini. For what ever reason, I thought it was a great idea to write an email, while letting the some what drunk Jessi and Jono do the choosing. While they were flipping through places I saw the name "Tony's Villa" and laughed. Tony's Villa doesn't exactly imply a nice place you want to visit. It implies the mafia (or as it's known in Greece, the Mapia), and meat balls, and someone named ... read more

In order to leave Santorini and get to Ios, we had to get ourselves back down to the port. Lucky for us, George, or Mike if you prefer real names, arranges this for you. Unlucky for us, it wasn't George who would be driving us, but his brother. We'll call him, George II. So George II shows up and doesn't seem particularly happy to be driving us and two other people to the port on this particular day. We get into his little van, and about... mmmm..... 20 seconds into the drive I see how this is going to go. This is going to be one of those times where your life flashes in front of your eyes, about every.. ten seconds. We're weaving in and out of traffic on the narrow "city" streets. Pedestrians really ... read more

As promised, the Greek Adventure! Part 1. (Jetlagged) After super Jono (that's pronounced Yono in some countries, ie: whatever country I'm in), made the train and comfortably ate our victory sandwiches, we rolled into Frankfurt's main train station around 9pm. We found a reasonable hostel where we could get a decent night's sleep, and get a private room. Considering we had only about a total of 6 hours in the room, we thought we should "splurge" and try and get a little sleep. When reading reviews of our hostel on hostel world (every backpackers favorite website, www.hostelworld.com) people said it was in a bit of a sketchy area, but they didn't mind the hostel itself, because it was really close to the train station. Because we needed to take the train to the airport early the ... read more

I have five minutes before i get kicked out of this internet cafe. I am not ready to come home, about two weeks ago I was tired and lookign forward to it, but after 10 days on the islands and a few great days here in London I am really not ready go to. This will not really be an easy transition. I have all sorts of lovely poetic things that are running through my head by no time to write them down. For now I will say, that I refuse to be sentimental tonight. Instead of keeping my head down and being introspective and nostalgic about all the things I've done, places I've been and people I've met, I'm keeping my head up. To soak it all in one last time, grab it fully. Leaving ... read more

I made an error! I don't land at 2 but at 5pm... This means it is the perfect time of day for you to leave your jobs, hobbies, wives/husbands and come and meet me at the airport! I've off to the Globe! I'll write an actual entry later, I just thought that I should fix this rather large error! Also it's Kristin's birthday today, and because I can't be there to tell her that she's old to her face, I'm doing it on this very public forum. Happy Birthday Kristin, you're old! Dear Blog, Europe likes to steal things, Love Lana (to be explained later)... read more

So yes, I'm obviously in the Greek Islands still, happy as a clam. I don't want to leave them. So instead of thinking about that just now, I will take this 15 minutes and quickly tell you about Paris the second time around. I also forgot to mention a rather funny thing that happened. Jono and I were walking one day in downtown Berlin, and a girl passed us. My first reaction was "God, I hate that girl she's so tall and skinny! And she looks like Sarah Hoyles." We kept walking for a few seconds until someone tapped me on my shoulder, and asked if we were from Canada. It was in fact Sarah Hoyles! We went to school together for a short time at the U of A, I believe she graduated when i ... read more

I know I've been behind on my blogs! I just wanted to write a quick one, for once, from the country I'm actually in. Greece to be exact. The island of Ios. Everyone should move to a greek island immediately! It's way better than Mexico or any place like that. Seriously. Also, I come home in just a few days. June 20th. I have mixed emotions, though mostly, I would rather stay here than leave. This however is an open invite for you to join me at the airport, with gifts, on June 20th. One day I'll check and see what time I arrive. But you know, if you want to be at the airport to greet me with gifts.. I wont hold it against you or anything. Anyway--I finally wrote about Berlin. I'll write more ... read more

I'm doing another cheater entry again because I happen to have some time to kill. I won't tell you where I am at this moment though as it will ruin the surprise of my long hard struggle. Let us begin: Berlin and My Feelings I feel that Berlin is my favorite German city. The four of us left Prague and our nifty little apartment for Berlin, arguably one of the most interesting cities in the world. I'm not arguing, I do in fact think it is one of the most interesting cities in the world. Orginially, I wasn't actually going to go there. I was going to go from Prague to Italy, but as it turns out, it's hard to get any where in Prague except for Germany... So Berlin seemed like the most logical (read ... read more

This is what I like to call a cheater entry. Right now, let's pretend I'm not sitting in a hostel which is located in the middle of a forrest on the edge of Berlin, but instead inside a cute little apartment in the fairytale city of Prague. A fairytale city, peppered with communism and a rather violent history. Before I forget I get too ahead of myself, I would like to tell you that homeless people in Munich can be extra special. Even now, a long while after leaving Munich, we are still talking about a woman who was sitting outside the train station when we were saying goodbye to Jessi. She was crouched in a ball, while we waiting for Jessi's carpool/organized hitchhiking ride to arrive, we were standing in a circle talking, when from ... read more
