After staying a week in groovy backpackers gathering spot San Pedro de Atacama we decided to do a tour to Bolivia. We chose Turismo Colque as they promised us that we could get a ride to Potosi. I wanted to do more than just a usual trip to lagoons and Salar de Uyuni. Early in the morning we said goodbye to Chano and squeezed into a van full of Japanese, Englishmen, Germans and even a couple from Poland. Hearing all those stories about beautiful landscape, a very severe frost and altitude sickness, we couldn’t wait to get on a 4WD at [View Full Entry]

San Pedro de Atacama (San Pedro for short) is a small village located in one of the many oases which are founded in the altiplano of the second region of Chile. Along this geographic zone rise some of the highest volcanoes of the Los Andes cordillera. Salta is the capital city of the Argentine province of Salta, located on the Valle de Lerma 1152 meters above sea level. Nicknamed in Spanish as Salta la Linda ("Salta the Beauty"), it is visited by a great many tourists because of its colonial architecture, a number of museums, but also because it's the starting point of the "Train to the Clouds" (Tren a las nubes) and to red-soiled Cafayate, as well as to other nearby tourist destinations. Throughout the province, trekking and rafting, climbing and bungee jumping are also practiced. From Salta we made trips to Valle de la luna [View Full Entry]

Buenos Aires ("Good Airs" in Spanish, originally meaning "Fair Winds") is the capital of Argentina and its largest city and port, as well as one of the largest cities in Latin America. The people of Buenos Aires are known as porteños ("people of the port"), acknowledging the major historical importance of the port in the development of the city and the whole nation. Buenos Aires is, in a certain way, a metaphor for Argentina. Its streets and surroundings gather over half of the country's population and represent its political, economic and cultural heart. It was home for Argentine writers [View Full Entry]
