Halong Bay - Vietnam

have spent the last 3 weeks touring Vietnam and Cambodia with Intrepid travel which has been amazing. both countries are very different to anything we have visited before and are both very poor. We have seen many different things, too many to mention so we have just posted hundreds of photos instead which should hopefully give you a taste of it. we're in thailand now and have the last 4 weeks to live on the beaches, fit in some more diving and spend the rest of our money on fake gucci and chang beer before coming home :( [View Full Entry]

Hello We've not done any updates for a while - Fiji didnt have the fastest internet connections and Bali was very laid back so we decided to leave it until now - so this rather large entry is coming to you from our Hostel in Singapore. Fiji we had a great time in Fiji and experienced different sides to the country. landing in Nadi airport we managed to blag some free transport to our hostel for the night. Hostel was ok but we had been put in a room with the squeekest bunkbeds and right next to the main dining and [View Full Entry]

Hi, just adding the final few new zealand photos and videos. We have only 1 night left in our little van (HOORAY) - we have posted back our sleeping bags and warm clothes to make our bags lighter but it is freezing now at night! Special note to Bonser: Thank you for the sleeping bags - although David wont ever admit it to you they were really good and we definitely needed them. Did you tell him they were made of the warmest material on earth? he has been telling me this all the time we have been in the van! [View Full Entry]

Hi everyone, We are currently in the North Isand of New Zealand (Lake Taupo) and have spent the last 3 weeks travelling the south island in a Max and Paddy style campervan (which we upgraded so we even had a shower and toilet in it - although the toilet was most definitely out of bounds for certain activities). We have done some amazing things here; Glacier hiking - the helicopter dropped us onto Franz Josef Glacier and we trekked around it with our crampons and ice picks. Caving - squeezing through the smallest of gaps (even davids stomach got through) watching [View Full Entry]

Hi everyone, we have just landed in New Zealand today and the weather is similar to england - freezing in comparison to what we have been enjoying recently. We left Brisbane and did a 4x4 3 day self drive camp on Fraser Island where the wild dingos come and visit you during the night, luckily for us they didnt come to our tent! We hired a tent, jeep and maps from a company and set out catching the ferry across to the island. unfortunately we forgot to hire a table and chairs and a lamp so we couldnt see anything after [View Full Entry]

2nd hostel in Surfers

We left Sydney what seems like ages ago now to head for Newcastle - to be honest there was not a lot there and the most excitment was the big warehouse fire that happened outside our hotel, which require 2 fire engines, police and ambulances. Moved from there to Port Macquire which was nicer, but still a little on the quiet side, i think the easter holidays had something to do with that - everything shuts down! Went to the Bilabong zoo to see the Koalas and Kangaroos - check out the photos of the roo with a little joey in [View Full Entry]

For the past 2 weeks we have now been in Australia. we started in melbourne city centre and did the usual touristy things for a couple of days, Federation Square, the Aquarium and the Melbourne Gaol where Ned Kelly spent his time in prison. Did a tour where they pretend to arrest you and throw you in a cell, some of the graffitti was hilarious but too rude to publish on this site! We then moved down to the beach in St Kilda where we started the important task of tanning! We decided to hire a car and drive the 500 [View Full Entry]

Hong Kong - We ventured up to the Victoria peak where the views of Hong Kong are quite spectacular. The tram trip up is so steep that the tall sky scrapers look like they are at a 45 degree angle. The view from the top has not changed since the last time i visited but the whole experience has now been made into the typical tourist attraction, making you walk through levels of tacky nic-nak shops before you actually reach the top. The same day we also decided to go to Stanley market, where we saw the perfect present for Carl [View Full Entry]
