Goodbye America! Hello Honduras! I recently graduated from Ohio Wesleyan with a degree in education. So, now I'm packing my bags and moving to Honduras for a year to teach english to middle schoolers!

Hello friends and family! I have 1 ½ months left! I used to be counting down the days until my return, now I wish time would sllllooooooowwwww DOWN! Don’t take offense I am just very happy here. I love my students! I love my fellow teachers! I love the administration and Hondurans I work with! On the plus side, I am looking forward to coming home again and actually having a real job. I’m will be teaching Language Arts at Columbus Bilingual Academy to 6th-8th grade. It is a charter school and I will be joining them in their second year. I couldn’t imagine a better job. Well, I’m half way through the school year and I have a grand total of 2 posts on my blog. Not good. Since so much has happened and things continue to happen I am going to going to list them instead of trying to write about them. Oddities of Copan 1) There was a snake outside of my classroom the other day. Somehow I walked right past it into the bathroom, and when I emerged, several students and a fellow teacher were examining a lump on the ground. I bravely smiled at them and walked into my classroom. Buenas! So, I apologize for not writing sooner. Many, many, many things have happened since my last entry and I have been a little busy, so again, I’m sorry. Let me catch you up: 1) Independence Day Parade: It was really cool to witness another country’s Independence Day. I suggest you try it some time. The kids were troopers. We marched about a 5k, and it was probably the hottest day of year, and for the first time we go to sport our incredibly cool (by cool I mean, BOTH, stylish and light weight) Mayatan polo’s. Hello family and friends! I am sorry that I have been a bad blogger (?) and have been in Honduras for a full 2 1/2 weeks without posting at all. I do have several excuses, like the past few weeks have been the craziest of my life; with getting adjusting to living in a new country, and taking over a classroom for the first time, I have not had much free time. I will try to post pictures someday, but the internet here is slow and very unreliable. Let me say that traveling here was an adventure in itself. First, saying goodbye to my family and Will at the gate was awful. I was also getting funny looks from the guards as I went through security.
