So I've decided to write an entry in here before Christmas and New Year and all that exciting stuff! I see my last entry is from October 30th... On the 31st my friends and I went out to our favorite restaurant (Phoenix Cafe - Yummy and cheap!) to say goodbye to our friend Jess. She's an Australian girl who was working over here as a nanny. It was so sad to say goodbye, but we'll definitely be seeing each other in the future. On the 4th of November Kate stayed the night at my house, and the next day we went to Elisabeths school to talk to a couple of English classes. It was really fun, especially with one of the younger classes. They were so sweet and had written us funny questions. Later we met ... read more

Woah, ok, I kind of fell off the radar a bit there... There is no way that I could condense all of the things I've been doing down into one entry so instead I present to you a picture dump.... read more

Today I am going with my host family to Bornholm again for a week. Straight after that, Julz is coming to visit for a week. So I thought I should get another blog entry in before I do too much and it becomes I chore! I've got to be quick cause we're leaving soon. On the 26th my host family and I started the drive down to Switzerland. We stayed in Switzerland for a week, in an apartment in the Alps. Also staying near by us was Johannes' mother and step father, as well as his step fathers children. We spent a lot of time with them and I got a long pretty well with all Johannes' step siblings. We went walking almost everyday. I was completely blown away by how huge the mountains were. They ... read more

OK! I've finally worked up to writing a new journal entry! Everyone breathe a big sigh of relief with me... I see the last time I wrote was on the 22nd of April, and my plan is to write an entry that brings you right up to date. So get ready to read! On the 26th of April (it's so strange to be writing about this - it feels like it was an age ago now) I went to Belgium with the Rebel family. These guys are my second host family, and they're absolutely amasing. There's Julie, who is a preist but is not at all the way you are thinking of her - so stop thinking that!; Johannes, who is a banker and is very nice and friendly; Elisabeth, who is ten years old, is ... read more

SORRY! No blog entry for so so looong! My excuse is that I had to write out a report for rotary about my stay so far and I... Couldn't be bothered doing this as well :) Some of the stuff I write in here will probably be copied and pasted from that report, too. Hooray for being lazy! SO! At the end of March I went to my school Gala (like the ball). It was ok, not fantastic, but not bad. I stayed with Matilde and Sarah almost all night. The Gala was held in the school, which I found a bit strange, and they had a live band, and no dj. I think, though, that the weirdest thing about it was that there was a bar where the students could buy beer, wine or shots. ... read more

SO. Today I was informed by my boyfriend that it's exactly a month since I last wrote in my travel blog. Oops! I honestly have no idea where to start in telling you what I've been up to. So much has happened! When I got back from Intro Camp I spent two weeks with the rest of the Copenhagen newbies going to language school. It was pretty fun, though I am still finding Danish very difficult. It' really frustrating. I think it's because I'm so used to being quite natural when learning a foreign language (Japanese). My teacher is really great. She's very clear in her instructions and she's also really nice - and pretty! On our first weekend back in Copenhagen we went out. Kate and Flick (who came down from Arhus for the weekend) ... read more

I think this entry will be slightly less weird than the last one. I got back from Intro Camp today... I am staying with my second host family for a week because my actual host family is in Austria skiing. The rest of language camp was so awesome. So many great things happened and I can't even begin to cover them all so I'm not going to. I think that there are however two things worth mentioning: 1. My hair was seriously bad - I had a million split-ends - and hair cuts are so expensive here, so I got Kate to cut it for me. It worked out surprisingly well. It's shorter at the back and longer at the front, which looks cool. But she took about 10 cms off the back so.... It is ... read more

Warning: This joint blog contains an obscene number of personal jokes and sexual connotations. Parental guidance is recommended for persons under 15 years of age. Time for an update! Kate and Elisa are on intro camp this week, just chilling and junk. They got to Aarhus yesterday (Sunday) via train from Copenhagen. There, they met up with their Perth buddy Adam ‘the lad’ Spight. Around fifty other exchange students (mostly from Australia and Brazil) are also at the camp. Every day this week they will have 6 hours of Danish lessons. The rest of the time is spent hanging with the bitches in the lad pad and re-enacting High School Musical. Yesterday they had a tour of the school, as well as introductory assemblies. After dinner they enjoyed a sing-along in the lounge with Levi playing ... read more

I've now been to school for 3 days (although one of those days was an excursion), and I'm really surprised about how different the school system is. When I was in Japan last year I went to school for two weeks and I thought that that was different, but this is in a whole new league. First of all, it's no where near as strict as in Australia. You call your teachers by their first name, there are no uniforms, and in most of the classes you are basically left to your own devices, so if you don't want to work, you don't have to. Most people do though, which I think's pretty interesting. Also, you can just walk out of the class whenever you want, you can eat in class, and you can go outtside ... read more
