Sean and I met in 2005, the year we went to Costa Rica. We have been best friends ever since, although we had bumpy roads .
I am french Canadian from Montreal and Sean is from British Colombia. We now make our home in BC.
In 2006 I bought a business that provided Sean and I full time work. The downfall was we no longer were able to travel together.
Although I was able to travel a few time a year. (South Africa overland to Tanzania) , Australia and last year 5 weeks in Thailand. Now I sold the business in order for Sean and I to travel together. We are booked for Bangkok on Jan 3 to March 22.
Planning to travel Thailand,Laos,Vietnam, Cambodia, and a short detour to Bali.
I (SEAN)am from bc,have backpacked australia, new zealand, hawaii, costa rica and panama.i am looking forward to traveling with josee again as she and i are very similar in what we enjoy doing.
Cant believe our journey to south East Asia is almost at its end. And quite a journey for sean and I to have experience together, and still remain friends. Travelling together for a period of time should be a pre-requisite before mariage. If you still friends after you know that you can get through anything. Now, we finish our journey in the gulf of thailand's islands. Our 1st stop is Koh Phagnan, getting off the pier not knowing what beach to stay amongst it's more then a dozen. But we were aproach by a lady with a few phamplets describing some really nice bungalows, we picked one, and never regretted it. a sangntaw took us with other backpakers heading in the same direction. wow, the bungalow were built in amongst jungle like hills, 5 minutes from

We flew to Phuket from Bangkok , arriving into phuket airport at 10.30pm , it was like a gong show getting a cab to kamala. But after a few hours we finally managed to get theRE. I had booked online a place to stay this one time. from previous experience i knew the accomodation was hard to find. "Sabrina's guest house"suprisingly they were up waiting for us. We both crashed right a way , it was a long day from Bali leaving this morning at 9.00 am. The next day was spent walking the beach, shopping and hanging around the guest house. We booked a tour to James Bond

To be honest we were a little worried, as we had recently heard that is was the rainy season and that despite it's reputation Bali is not known for its beaches. Wow , how lucky we were to have had the opportunity to travel to Bali. Now we know why people come to BALI. We were also very fortunate to be here during the Galungan and kunningan celebrations Galungan, one of the most important festivals in the Balinese calendar, is a time when the spirits of ancestors return to earth to live with the family. The spirits are said to descend five days before the festival begins and to return to heaven ten days thereafter.Towering bamboo poles are erected outside every gate, turning simple lanes into avenues of

Although we only spent 1.5 days touring the temples and ruins of Angkor Wat theres numerous things to do it Siem Reap. We visited a silk farm , we both were fascinated by the process. The farm actually grows mulberry trees so the worms have leaves to eat. Once the cocoon is produces, they boil it to extract the silk. We did our usual walking. We rented bikes for the day and decide to ride the 10 klm bike to Angkor Wat to see the sunset, it was a great idea, obviously the pics don't do it justice, but hope you will enjoy them. We decided to

We had a marvelous time in Saigon walking the streets, we manage to walk the entire city center without a scratch, as mentioned before our skills at crossing the street while 1000's of mopeds are coming at you are quite unique. We spent 2 nights, we were suprised on how we enjoyed saigon, (originally were only spending 1 day here and get out of dodge) we went to the war remnents museum, reunification Palace , Notre dame church and city hall we saw some fabulous architecture . We think we have managed to walked an average of 5 klm a day on this trip. Did I mention they have no sidewalks, actully they do, but there are packed with mopeds, cars or vendors, so there's

Mui Ne is a different type of beach town then Nha trang, quite smaller in population, and there's only 1 road lined with palm trees, 20 klm long that runs along the ocean with guest house, resort and restaurents on either side. Theres a large eastern european contingent, where even the menus are in Russian. They say its a beach town and one of the nicest in vietnam , but we wonder where the beach is, as they built the resorts right to the ocean and the waves splash against the retaining wall. It is possible to walk along during low tide , you maybe get a peak at the sand. We spent

Only about 1/4 of the merchants are open during this holiday, wich will last until Jan 29.12. I guess Laos celebrates the Lunar year also. ( we should have done a little more homework) At least we found a local bus that will take us to the Vietnam border (lao bao) for tomorrow morning 7.00 am they tell us . we rented bicycles again and travel around Savannakeht 100 000 population, the mekong river seperates laos from thailand, and you can see thailand from this side. As most places were closed, we ate at the leena's guest house. good food and company. In the morning we arrived at

From the guest house in Kong Lo we waited for a sawngthaew (local bus with basically 2 planks in the back of a truck, usually covered and the back open so you can get in and out) Within 1/4 hour one showed up, we hopped on, there was only one direction to go, to the main road 40 klm away. I guess that was the end of the route because everyone got off. We waited for another one going in the direction of Vietnam, not to long after we were on another one heading east to Vietnam going through serpentine roads linned by forest. The sawngthaew was overcrowded with locals carrying there goods with the smell of fish, tobacco and chickens. Sean and I ended up on opposite side , but

After Vientianne , we went to Kong Lo caves, this was one of the sites we had planned on visiting. We were lucky to find a bus that went there directly, as our bible (The lonely planet) mentioned we had to take a few different buses and possibly an overnight stay in a small town on route. The bus drove directly to a brand new guest house khonglor eco-lodge, i mean just finish building, brand new coloured sheets the plastic was still on the toilet handle. 1 klm from the cave and only 60 000 kip. For 100 000 kip we get 2 guides witgh head lamps and a small boat. one
