Well we flew back to Sydney from Christchurch NZ last night. We stayed at the NOVATEL in Brighton. This morning we are downloading all the photos we took and are packing proper for the return flight. This has been one of the greatest vacations I have ever taken and it is not just the countries but traveling with my son Jordan. Our flights are at 4PM tonight and I get back in CT on Saturday morning. I stop in San Francisco for about 4 hours and will pick up a few things (sour dough bread) before continuing on to JFK. Its lightly raining here in Sydney but we are going to try to get some panarama shots prior to leaving and post them. To all who read this, I hope you enjoy the photos and if ... read more

It's Jordan again. Our day today started in Dunedin. We got to go on a tour of the Speights brewery in downtown. The factory entrance is located on a steep street near the center of town. It is in an old brick building that was rebuilt in the 1940's and all of the machinery from that time is the machinery which is still used today. I got a panarama shot of the inside of the brewing room. I haven't put it together yet, so I'm hoping it looks good. After the brewery tour, we took a drive on the peninsula just east of Dunedin. This drive was amazing. There is only one road on and off this place, and it runs along the coast of the bay. Talk about a curved and unforgiving road! Probably one ... read more

We landed in New Zealand yesterday morning. If you are traveling by air in the future I suggest Emirates, that is a great airline, they fly the newest Airbus jets and the seats are very comfortable plus the entertainment for the seatback screen contains 160 channels of movies. We rented a car and drove from Christchurch to Wamarama and stayed at a cute little motel where the rooms were small but comfortable and the toilets and shower were just down the hall. lol It is not very hard driving on the left side of the road but I must admit that Jordan is much better in town than I am. We are staying at a Novatel in Queenstown tonight and the view is spectacular. We are going to ride the SHOTOVER tomorrow. (www.shotoverjet.com) This is where ... read more

Well its was a big day! Wine at Lindemans, Rosemount and others. The wine was great and some that they do not export. Jordan and I enjoyed lunch of smoked salmon, salad, pasta and sliced rare roast beef. Each course (4) was served with a different wine. One we both agreed was terrific (Semillion). We had a sparkling wine that was one of the best ever but when I enquired as to shipping cost - well lets just say you really need to come to Australia and try the wines. lol While on the bus going through the mountains Jordan spotted a wild kangaroo or wallabee, it was several hundred yards distant so we could not tell how tall he was. Lets discuss sports and Australia, we have watched Cricket, Rugby, Polo and Soccer. Soccer I ... read more

Hey All, it's Jordan. It's 1020 pm on Thursday night and me and dad are resting up for the Hunter Valley Winery tour tomorrow. Today was a fun day. We took a bus ride through the Blue Mountains which is about an hour outside of Sydney. It is a gorgeous place. The mountain scenery does give off a blue color, due to the oils in the gum tree leaves. The first stop on this trip was a wildlife park. We got to interact a lot with the animals, as shown by the pictures I uploaded. There was a Tasmanian Devil area, but there was no damn devils in the cage! This is the 2nd wildlife park I've been to with no Tasmian Devils. It's starting to get annoying. I have a feeling I will never get ... read more

Jordan here again. It's mid tuesday and we have been on the hop-on hop-off bus tour most of the morning. We went to the Hard Rock Cafe for lunch, based off of what the bus tour told us. We got to the restaurant just to find that the Hard Rock Cafe Sydney has been closed for sometime now. We decided to try one of the other restaurants in the area of Woolamaloo. We found a nice japanese restaurant tucked in the middle of a street the resembles New Orleans historic district. I tried sushi for the first time (salmon) and coincidentally that is also the last time I will have sushi. Anywho, this is the calm before the storm because tomorrow morning is our day trip to Hunter Valley for the winery tours. Thankfully, the bus ... read more

Jordan and I went to the Sydney Zoo today. Australia has some of the strangest animals in the world. Koalas, kangaroo's, and 64% or the worlds most venomos snakes. Well the Koalas are very soft but can be nasty if touched. lol We also toured the ship Endevor, a reproduction of Captain Cooks ship. The tour was part of the Maritime Museum and while touring we found out that the united states named a warship after an Australian warship that was sank during a battle against Germany. When the American ship was decommissioned the ships bell was given to Australia and its on display here. This was the only time in history that an American warship was ever named in honor of anothers countries ship. I have included some pictures from today. Tomorrow we are going ... read more

Hey All! Jordan here, typing my first blog entry. Sydney is a spectacular place. It's a mix of most cities I have been to, especially Boston, but it is much nicer and cleaner. Getting to sleep in for the first time in 3 months is probably the greatest thing ever. It is good to have my dad down here with me to, and I expect this trip is going to be one that we will both remember forever. I got to see my buddy Evan last night. I went out with all of his friends last night...damn good time. Well, I will be writing again, but I am really looking forward to Hunter Valley Winery tour which we will be going on in the next couple days. Adios everyone.... read more
