Right, I thought I would write a blog of my travels around S. America, and prove I am actually there and not at Butlins in Bognor as one of my friends said.

The aim is to see as many countries as possible and hopefully make it to Columbia (via Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Bolvia, Peru and Equador) before the money runs out.

As for the Sombrero in my profile picture, no idea, it was the only South (ish) American thing I had, and as my mum said, "you can see the new summer house (shed) in the back-ground"

Any comments, suggestions or even abuse welcome.

Its taken me a wee bit of time to update this blog, but that mainly due to the fact I have spent the last 3 weeks pretty much on the beach. Plus typing this is a massive effort, and its costing me a fortune in internet cafes!! Apologies in advance for spelling and grammar, but its late, the keyboard is ruddy awful, and I´m meant to be winning money at poker of some Irish lads back at the hostel, so do your best to decypher what I mean. I arrived in Rio and I was greeted by a man with an umbrella, it wasnt because I was a VIP or to shade me from the sun, but because it was lashing it down. Not quite how I pictured my entrance into Rio. Macarena stadium The next ... read more

I am now in a very unsunny Brazil, so instead of hitting Ipanema beach I thought I would finally update the blog. Bus Catching Ability My bus catching ability is actaully getting worse, but slightly more eventful. I was meant to catch an overnight bus from the Brazilian side of Igazcu Falls to Campo Grande. Unfortunately though numb nuts here turned up at the Argentinian bus terminal. My face dropped quicker that the waterfalls when I realised I had missed another bus. But a really helpful guy at the terminal arranged for a taxi to take me across the border and to the Brazilian side. The only problem was I had 35mins to catch the last bus out of town, otherwise it was another night in Igazcu. Unfortunately the taxi was about as fast as a ... read more

I´ve got to hang around until 6 tonight to catch a night bus to central Brazil (Campo Grande), so I thought would give a quick update on what I have been up to. Buenos Aires After the Marathon I hung around BA for a few more nigths and basically ate Steak and drunk Quilmes (Argy beer). Also meet a cool ozzie called Anne who is moving to the mighty Clapham Junction to live for a couple of years if it all goes to plan. After 2 weeks in BA it was time to move on. I was meant to catch the bus on Friday night, but being the complete the idiot that I am, I managed to miss my bus. It had nothing to do with me being late, just a lack of common sense and ... read more

Well after nearly 2 pretty hectic weeks in BA, I thought I would let you know about what I have been up to. For those of you who have a short attention span, and are just want interested in pictures, here is basically what I have been up to in 10 seconds. *I meet Maradona *I danced the Tango *I became fluent in Spanglish *I ate steak the size of my car *I ran the Buenos Aires Marathon The City BA has been a bit of slow burner of a city for me. But the more time I spend here, the more I like it. The people are very friendly, and especially if you make an effort to speak the lingo. It does remind me of a European city, and I´m glad i choose BA as ... read more
